the key wont turn, the steering wheel is locked. as best i can tell (diagnosing over the phone) the shifter is all the way in park, and will not shift into any other gear.
any ideas>
a quick search on google said everything from lock cylinder being bad, to the shift interlock cable needing adjustment.

has she tried turning the steering wheel both ways ? some time when the car is turned of and steering wheel locks it can bind up bad , usually happens when you are getting out and grab the wheel , or turn it when getting in
she saiys she tried that and no dice. the button on the shifter wont push in, and the shifter will not move at all. i think it may be the shifter/ignition interlock cable...
her keys are most likely wore down or the actual key tumbler is shot. i know i had to replace mine in my 96 cav it was so bad.
yeah put my NEW key in and it started right up. looked at her key compaired to mine and it was way way way worn down. so problem solved for now.
