Whats your opinions and experiences with them?

They're decent cars, buddy has an SVT model and I like it.
I test drove the svt focus some years ago,pretty fast little car.
The only reason i didn't buy it was,I'm 6ft 235 lbs and i didn't feel comfortable with the car,its to small for me.
it's like the miata slow but zippy and can take a corner...no chance of power if it's not the svt
I drove a ZX3 before. It's okay, but I wasn't really excited. The SVT sounds good on paper, but I'd have to drive it to really say. If there was one thing I remember, it's that it was a fairly sure footed car, even on gravel.

My buddy has an 04 Focus SVT 5- door with the Euro appearance package (HID's, leather Recaro's, better wheels) in screamin' yellow. Really nice car, and since we turbocharged it, has a decent amount of power too.

Currently 3rd quickest Ecotec on the .org - 10.949 @ 131.50 MPH!!!

Well i guess its nothing compared to the awesomeness that is a j-body.
I have a 07 hatch, with a SAP kit, and its night and day better then my Cav was. I'm 6'4 and there is tons of room for me for my 2 hour daily drive. I have driven a lot of cars, and with out getting into a pissing contest, I honestly don't understand how it's labeled as slow? its speed is on par with all of the compacts out there. It smoked my buddies 08 civic on a HWY roll on from 10 mph. up to 80mph or so. Also Ford put real car suspension in there so it can turn as well.
I love mine, It was cheap so I'm not berried in a car payment, and I drove the new ones but I liked the feel and the layout out the older body style much better.
I'am 100% percent happy with mine.

well my buddies svt can't touch my cav in a straight line, but i can't keep up in turns.
six versus five speed, leather versus cloth, options versus, well, bareness.
i really like the svt focus and it handles really well, but its lacking in the power dept. 170 hp should be peppier than my cav

I realize what ever facts I put up here with be replaced with opinions.
Go sit in a Focus, I'm trying to think of the last J-body I've seen with heated seats and mirrors, Or a 6-disc in dash MP3 Player with a full Sony sound system and a Sony Sub. not to mention seat hight adjustment, side impact air bags, and so on.
But yeah I guess if you drive a S-class to work every day, the focus with out leather seats or a 6 spd could be considered bareness.
my comment about bareness was directed towards j bodies. no doubt the focus is better equipped
