mr2 donor > nsx donor MR2 < NSX. no way in this world would i hack an nsx rather stretched the mr2 to fit, IMO

agreed, A nsx is much better then having a fake Ferrari

well yeah, but i'm talking if money was no object, of course an nsx is better than a fake ferrari, but th eenzo kit would make a hell of a widebody for an nsx, not to mention the doors and such..

I get what your saying but I just couldn't hack up an NSX like that, even if money was no object, but an NSX platform would be a much better base then a MR2

I know this isn't a thread about the NSX, but just feel like saying this since some of you seem to hold them to some super high regard. You are swinging on the nuts of a WAY overpriced V6 powered "supercar" wannabe that can't even compete with some "pony cars" at half or 1/3 the price. Not only that, Honda said "yeah let's make this sleek new.... wait... nah @!#$ it, let's take supercar styling cues that everyone else abandoned in 89 and use them right on throughout the entire life of the car!" How does everyone think that is some sort of sin to hack up? I say, if you have the money to chop up an over price, over hyped car that can't perform better than better looking cars in it's price range(on any performance scale), then go for it.

On the other hand....you have other fingers.

the enzo is probably one of the ugliest ferraris ever made.

Re: Ferrari Enzo replica

But at least you can look at it this way... "I paid too much for this exclusive car. It's exclusive as @!#$. It's not even that good looking. I have been a Ferrari owner my whole life, and own a piece of collectible history. AND it performs amazingly" Obviously that's an Enzo owner. What do you get from an NSX owner? "I paid way too much for this over-produced car. It's hyped up, but I have yet to feel the performance benefits over a Ferrari 355. Come to think of it, even in it's age the 355 has a timeless and sleek design. Why does my Honda look like a 1980's Bugatti? Did that $16K used base model Corvette just pass me in my $50K(used) japanese 'super' car? ........On the straight away............ AND in the turns? Man I can't wait to tow this home with my truck... at least it is what it's built to be..."

I'm seriously bored enough to make my point before someone says "those prices and performance claims are way off". Here...

Mint condition, 24K miles. NSX: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2005-ACURA-NSX-TARGA-TOP-24K-MILES-LONG-BEACH-BLUE-/170482874351?cmd=ViewItem&pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item27b19237ef#ht_500wt_1078

Mint condition, 23K miles. Z06: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ONLY-23K-MILES-CHROMES-BEST-COLORS-HUD-EXTRAS-/140405190497?cmd=ViewItem&pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item20b0cd2f61#ht_26030wt_1061

And before you say the NSX sellers buy it now price is way off base, check where the bids at Still almost double the Vette.

X2. If I had the money, I could see owning one for it's performance, but I would never want to make another vehicle look like that.

soft spots for the older 512s aka testarossas /

Re: Ferrari Enzo replica

the NSX is a joke really, i like the way it looks and all and i wouldnt deny one being given to me if it should happen but... the damn thing stock for stock makes as much WHP as a SS/TC for 3 times the price speaking in terms of new vs new even though the nsx was new at a completely different time than the cobalt.. but still i was at a dyno day and there was an SS/TC and an NSX on the dyno and the nsx made almost the exact numbers to the wheels as the cobalt, i think the cobalt made more tq (go figure? lol) but yeah, an nsx is really a car for someone who wants ferrari-ish looks without anything ferrari about it

The NSX was meant to be a "Gentlemans Supercar". the kind you could drive EVERY DAY and not wory about. It did have state of the art features like active aero, and was one of the first Honda CARS to feature VTEC. Anyone whose ever driven one can tell you that these cars ARE NOT JUNK. I have driven one, and drove it hard! The sound of the V6 hitting the VTEC changeover, and revving to 8000 RPM gave me goose bumps.

I miss my Sunfire, I want it back!

The SOUND of power rather than the feel and presence of power... yeah go VTEC. It's still horribly overpriced and underpowered.

God I hate being an American sometimes. There's more to a car than how fast it can get from 0-60. Also, the NSX was limited the same stupid <300hp standard that all japanese touring cars of the 90's were subject to (Supra, 3000GT, R34, RX-7, etc.). What do you expect?

I have no signiture

I expect it not to cost 80K+ new.

I think I was mistaking the NSX performance with that of the NSX-R...but yeah, that is a lofty price.

haha yeah. I mean... not knocking anyones PERSONAL TASTE in cars, it's just that it doesn't (in any measurable way at all), outperform any other sport designed car in it's price range. It's FAR too costly for what you get.
