....and I decided to get myself a birthday present, and here she is...
It's a 2011 Ford Mustang v6 with the Pony Package. I ended up taking the hour drive to Orangeburg, SC and traded in my '06. The car is worlds better than my previous Mustang in every conceivable way. I came close to getting a Genesis Coupe v6, but I ended up being lowballed on the trade-in value at the dealership where my dad works some time ago so that deal never went through. I got up yesterday about 9:30 and made the call to the dealer to see if they had it (as their website indicated it had been sold, which I guess ended up being an error on Ford's part).
Anyways about the car has the new 3.7L v6 engine, limited slip diff with 2.73 gears. I drove it last night and have been blown away. Car is still being broken in so I don't think I will witness it's full potential for quite some time. No real mods I am planning right now other than possibly getting the windows tinted this Friday. Eventually I will replace the tiny exhaust tips with a better exhaust setup and maybe lower it about an inch at some point.
very nice.
one hell of a car for having that 300+hp v6.
Anything worth doing is worth over doing.
Very nice, ford really has me considering one of these for my next car. That much power, and it looks great, especially in black. Very nice pick-up.
I'm not a mustang fan at all, but I have to say the new body style is the best they've had in years. Really can't complain about the power in then either. Ford is really doing great stuff with it. I just don't like the idea of driving to work and seeing 50 cars just like mine.
One hell of a nice car man!!! The new Mustangs own!

Each day I see like 60 Mazda 3's,Civics,Corollas and matrix,Versa,Cavalier,Sunfires..etc...
So you're driving a custom made car? Let's see it!
As much as I hate to admit it, the new Mustang is really nice. I dig it!

Well so far 2011s in my area are few and far in between. There are a lot of 2010s running around with the same body styling but not many 2011s. I think I may be the only Mustang in Lexington (where I live) that's a 2011. The dealership that's like 2 miles from me hasn't got one in yet and when I talked to them last week weren't sure when they were going to get one and wasn't capable of special ordering me one...so I was really surprise that a small town like Orangeburg were able to get something that a bigger city like Lexington couldn't do. As far as driving this car to work...not a chance for a while. They are doing construction on the Interstate I take to work and the last thing I want is to get this car all chipped and pitted up. I'm going to enjoy the hell out of it (as this is the most fun I've ever had in a car) but I'm going to preserve it as well. Beside, my Sonata (which is also black) is already scarred and scratched from where people at my job had hit it either with their purses, car doors and what have you. If something like that happened to my Mustang I'd probably go mental...so I'm not sure if I'll drive that far into town just knowing the people at my job have no sense when it comes to the elementary basics of parking and respect for other people's property.

You missed the point. I know there is going to be another car like mine out there. I'm not dumb that's why they call it a "mass production" car. I'm not even knocking it but when it comes to cars you see more than others mustang is up there with civic. To be honest I see way more mustangs then civics in the panhandle. There isn't even anything wrong with that. It's simply just a personal opinion.
I was quite confused when I saw a birthday post in other cars. Came in expecting to see flame posts haha.
Nice pickup
Congrats man. I can wait to sit my ass in some new leather upholstery soon.
sweet car and congrats on the purchase.. I really hope thats not your house your parked next to, otherwise you may have some priority issues

Haha, no that's not my house. That's a storage shed that's been in the family since the 80s which is being used to store some of my stuff but mostly my dad's tools and gardening equipment. We built something of a car port over it. I bought a house last August (which is across from the Mustang) and in a way helped me be able to get the Mustang I got now.
Anyways I've already put 150 miles are the car and so far so good. Lot of talk where ever I take it. Still amazed at being under 2K rpm when cruising the highway at 70 - 80 mph. The car is fast but I highly doubt it's faster than a stock (pre '11) Mustang GT. I have a friend that got a Kona Blue '10 GT a couple weeks ago. We might have to have a spirited run when we get time to do so but I'm sure he'll blow me away.
Trying to get use to SYNC and what it can or cannot do.
I thought about lowering the car but I think I'm going to hold off for now and just do the tint later this summer. Funny enough I am scraping in some places (something i wasn't expecting) so I don't think lowering is something needed in the immediate future. I might pick up the performance pack from Ford later in the year if it becomes a reality.
