to me a 300zx is sexy turbo or not... i mean i drive a sunfire, but azncav is right, your better off not wasting time and money. If you wanna resell your chances are slim on making what you paid

The 300Zx is a sexy car in it's stock form when it's not fu˘ked up with a boxy fiberglass kit like above. Yuck.
But yes, find one turbo and buy it.

Its for sure a step in the right direction... if its clean and rust free buy it. Jdm vg30dett's are dirt cheap, Cheaper than sr's or rb's.

if its n/a buy it for sure. to everyone saying its a waste to buy it n/a is rediculous. friend of mine bought his N/A. pulled the motor. scored an RB26 for about 8K from japan, had it imported to canada then brought across. Upon tearing the motor/trans apart, it had a carbon twin disc clutch he sold for $2500, sold a few other things off it totaling about another $2500. now he has a 10.30 1/4 mile single turbo 300zx. so hands down id buy one N/A and swap it.

move on...find another 300zx if you really want one...
if you have alot of knowledge with turbos and boost then sure you might not mind pulling the engine to build a set up...if not then move on and buy something boosted.

N/A, automatic, 20 year old 300ZX that has well over 100,000 miles on it and looks slightly modified?
Personally i'd run from that car if you don't have job. You will not know pain till you have to start paying for repairs to that car. It's painfully slow, 20 YEARS OLD! and notoriously expensive to repair. Trust me this is NOT the car you should be buying while unemployed and going to school.

you should see the charge pipe couplers swell up when he revs it in the pits. and the launch from that car is plain nasty.

I helped my buddy work on his na 300zx. Sure the jdm twin turbo can be had for cheap. That's bc no one wants to buy it. I've had motors out of a lot of cars. Put many in cars there weren't made to be there. I would never do a motor swap on a 300zx. They're a pain to do anything on. @!#$ that. It's not even a reliable car to begin with. Only thing I would consider is an old datsun 280z with a v8 swap.

Getting a 300zx with no job and in school is incredibly stupid.. why not just keep the cavy until you finnish school, get a job in the field you're studying, and THEN go waste some money.. that was my plan to go for a 350Z when i graduated, but then i flunked.. thus staying with the cavy.. thats the guys are right, they're stupid expensive to buy parts for/repair..

Id rather do N/A due to the issues that a 20 year old turbo car can have if the maintenance hasnt been kept up on. Turbo repairs be expensive.

but I still love 300ZXs. My old neighbor has 2 of them.

Dude, scale back your need for speed. 18 year old poor college student, looking to buy an old V8. I hope you like getting it up the ass, because you're about to get @!#$ by the long cock of the insurance company.

Fix whatever's wrong with the cav.

Well one ive already sold the cav and two....my very first car was a 77 corvette with t tops and a 350 that was balance/blueprinted, bored .20 over, roller rockers, edlebrock intake, ect and i was just fine payin the insurence on that with no help from mommy and daddy and i was also getting only 8 1/2 MPG. You can continue sayin what you want though.
