Great way to take advantage of the first time ever that something breaks on a Toyota that doesn't on a GM.

It would take more than a thousand dollars to get me back into a GM.

Its really just a ploy for GM to actually make a profit this year by re-selling all the Toyotas they take in on trades lol

This is disgusting in my honest opinion. Truth be told I am slighty biased becasue I work for Toyota, but still this is a low. Not once did Toyota Advertise that "Hey GM and Chrysler are going bankrupt and need government assistance...so come on down and buy a Toyota because they wont even be in business a few years down the road." What a lack of, for a better word, tact on thier part. My fiance drives her 2009 Camry SE everyday, and not for one second do I even think...hmmm...I wonder if this Toyota is a well made car. I hate my Cobalt, I hate the dash rattles, the airbag light thta stays on, the cheap materials on the inside where the window switches are thats chipping and has been since 5000 miles....That is the reason she doesn't drive the Cobalt, the reliability just isn't there with the Chevy, and it would take damn well more than $1000 to make me buy another, truth be told I mis my Cavalier to death....best made Chevy I have ever owned. But still pales in comparison to my Camry. And th damn media blowing @!#$ up is rediculous. We were forthcoming of all this...we didnt wait for the government to say hey...you have to recall these vehicles, we took the bull by the horn and said hey wait a minute, lets do something about this now, before anymore tragedies. Did anyone else notice the recalls on Ford F150's for accidental airbag deployment. There have been 373 cases of that. What abut the recall on my Cobalt so the could put a piece of foam up in the headliner so that if I get into a side impact the metal doesn't pierce my head. Whatever...it is what it is. I am going to make a few less $$$ this week. I'll deal with it. And as far as the Chevy dealerships and such, they are going to have all these used Toyota's for sale at thousands less than market value and are going to turn a huge profit in re-selling them... Again great for them, but what a tactless way to go about doing it. OK that was great to get off my chest. I need a drink!!!

I'll take dash rattles over hitting a tree from my car not stopping, any day of the week.

My accelerator pedal has never stuck and I have the CTS pedal...and we drive that car over 50 miles per day...

I'll take Toyota's safety, value and willingness to stand behind thier product over Government Motors, cheap, quickly depreciating ass anyday. The only reason I have the Cobalt was stritly a financial thing at the time.

why do you like cars that like to drive themselfs. last time i check runway toyota's is not quality. the only think that toyota makes is ugly slow crap. that everyone seems to like to buy. who knows why people like to have their cars go for a drive by themselfs. i would take a government motors car before any @!#$ball jap car at least it won't runaway. remember toyota moving forward @!#$ you if you what to stop. this quality that only stupid people can love. their is a lot of dumb mindless people that would buy a car from toyota that was the cause of many deaths. i wonder when toyota is going to make a truck that is worth buying because the tundra is a piece of @!#$ and rusty frames i guess is toyota quality. at least general motors cares about their consumers and wouldn't sell a car that will kill you. i would like have a car that doesn't runway and send me flying in the air hitting the ground rolling over 4 times and then because it is a safe car burst into a burn me alive.ther are so many videos on youtube of people having problems with runway toyota's.it is ok because toyota will cover it by saying it was the floor mats. i wonder how that can be when the floor mats are in the trunk.i love what you do for me toyota

How many has it happened to compared to how many are actually on the road? Do you know the number? I dont but I am sure is is less than .00001%. How is the Tundra a piece of #$^$ ? Do you own one, have you ever driven one, or are you a chevyforumblogfanboy?

You arguing with carnivorous mouse is like talking to a wall. The guy is a half point shy of being legally retarded. Everyone here already knows it.

It's a simple recall that they will repair for free at the dealer that replaces the pedal assembly. Hardly a reason to rush out and step down to a lower quality car for a lousy $1000. 2 years from now that same Toyota that was recalled will not only be fixed and still running great. It will retain far more resale value than the GM POS you could trade in to today. And when I'm ready to trade my car in I'd rather NOT be upside down in my loan because my GM car depreciated so much more than the Toyota I had.

Over the last decade i can count how many major recalls Toyota has had on one hand, for GM i'll need both hands and maybe both of my feet.
Count the last 2 decades...I can still count how many major recalls Toyota has had on one hand, I'll need both my hands and a few friends hands to count how many GM has has.
So you can laugh at Toyota all you want, it's still the ONLY major recall they ever had, and they never went bankrupt or had to be bailed out by any government.

Shouldn't ANY idea where Rodimus and carnivorous mouse together endorse, support and celebrate automatically make it the dumbest idea ever? As soon as saw those 2 brag or gloat i knew this thread was retarded.

Here's something for the mouth breathers like Rodimus and carnivorous mouse to chew on. Fact is had Toyota offered the same deal trade your GM car in for $1000 toward a new Toyota today, GM would be bankrupt again so don't kid yourself even with 1 recall Toyota is still a far better product. GM should be happy Honda or Toyota didn't offer something like this while GM went through bankruptcy or GM would be gone today. And that's truth.

Lol I got an e-mail from hyundai ( I get them from time to time from when I was lookin at buyin a tiburon a lil while back) thought it was pretty funny, looks like everyone is trying to cash in. However, I'd probably buy a Hyundai before another GM car for the value.

Hyundai Email wrote:We are sure that by now you have heard of the major safety recall on 8 different Toyota models. Toyota has stopped production and canceled the sales of the Camry, Corolla, Matrix, Tundra and 4 other models. Hyundai has currently announced that they will give an additional $1,000 Rebate for anyone who trades a Toyota on 3 of our best selling models. These models include the 2010 Hyundai Sonata, Elantra and Elantra Touring. If you do not currently own a Toyota, please pass this message on to someone who does so we can keep your family and ours safe on the road.
