RIP JESSE GERARD.....Youll always be in my thoughts and prayers...
saturns are the uber gay.
just ask DTP.
I must confess... I feel like a monster!
I don't like most older saturns i'm to fat to fit in one.
Your just a Kid with a dream!
i personally hate saturns, gf loves them so i guess to each his/her own. if u think it's worth it then do it.

sounds great! ...so, which one of u guys is gonna gimme the cash for it?
maybe divide it up between the all of y'all?
Spike J wrote:I'd get it, but keep the engine that's in it. You can always turbocharge it or just use it as a reliable D.D..
Saturn's Turbo'd SC2
Turbo'd SL2
Turbo'd SC2
turbo'd SC
S Series Swap Guide
Alpha Tunings Saturn Turbo Kit
keep the original engine, ehhhh. want better.
only saturn engine i would put in is those SC2 DOHC motors for a lil more power....
but ECO would be sooooo much more amazing in there....especially a turbo ECO build!
so much more potential from the ECO, and a slightly bigger aftermarket as well!

DONT DISS THE TUPPERWARE CAR!!!!!
lmfao!!!!!!

you sir are correct.
but come on guys, it has IRS, and the coolest looking 3rd door thing!
also, its made of that plastic dent/rust proof stuff, so its hella light!
..do the rear disc brake swap, put the 2001 headlights and hood on it
to make it look like a newer SC models, throw a turbo ECO into it, and
HOLY SPIT!!!
what u guys think?
u think it would be a hard to do swap, or pretty striaght forward?
i think ur dreaming with the eco. y not just keep it simple, use it as a dd?
Swap an LD9 in it. Everyone knows thats a way better motor.
Yes, i'm trying to start @!#$ lol

if i wanted a 2200OHV i would just keep my cavy
Damn I need an edit button. I sound like a retarded 5 year old with down syndrome in that last line. Let me try again. I built mine for under four grand including the price of the car.
I know my grammar/spelling isn't the best, but wow that was really horrible.
My friends mom has the first year of Ions 5 sp and it is pretty quick... and they look great, excpecially with the suicide door. And you can find them just as much if not cheaper than a SC1....
ugly
little to no weight difference compared to a 3rd gen jbody
is the 200lbs weight savings worth the money/effort for swapping the jbody drivetrain into an uglier FWD chassis? not really.
yea you get IRS in the rear, but who cares? what kind of suspension upgrades to SC1s have?
how are you going to run the electronics on the ecotec?
you want an uber cool swap? do an eco/ F23 swap into one of these.. 600lbs lighter than a jbody
if you want to be even cooler, do a midmount/ RWD setup similar to the SHOgun.

3SGTE Corolla
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHPyg8YnfZ0
1JZGTE FC RX7 (You can do the 2JZ as well)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oMrv4On5wJI
2JZ 240sx
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1wosMV5xHWc
1uzfe AE86 Corolla (Thats a Lexus V8 case you were wondering =P )
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5t9S7BRtq5s
13B Starlet (The car in full stock form weights just under 1700lbs)

B18C5 Mini
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nG1-2DmtDik
There are TONS more.....I wont even get into the honda swap's or common 240 swaps. Some other cheap things to build is a tercell. You can find them CLEAN cheap. Swap the JDM Starlet motor in it. Its a 1.3L DOHC turbo engine. I build mind for under 4 grand including price of the car.
great cars! always a fan of the JDM scene. would love a nice 'rolla, del sol, civic hatch, or even a 240sx.
problem is, cant find em here where im at, in my price range....unless they have an ungodly amount of miles on them,
or they have nice, low/average milage...but the body is rusted to spit, or has been in a wreck.
as for all these cars to do motor swaps in, im not REALLY looking for a car to do a swap in too much.
would love if i could find these said JDM type cars with their said motors swapped in them already, for a cheap enuff price.
the only reason im looking to do this swap, is to be unique, and maybe have a car with an engine that no one has done before me.
and as i said i would love to have almost any nice JDM toy mentioned above, but as i said, currently im ECO fanboi mode lately, because ive always wanted an ECO cav....cant find any in my price range, and the sexy 3rd door is just an added bonus.....only other thing i can afford with a flippin sweet half door is a a mini truck.....and well 3rd door is WAYYYY cooler on a coupe. only other thing out there with the 3rd door is the RX8.....and well thats just outta my pricerange, and has a rotory, which ive heard both bad and good...thats a whole new thread/topic im sure! lmao!
can anyone give me any advice on to how hard/easy this swap mite be?
its either this saturn with the eco swap,
this saturn with the SC2 motor and turbo,
or ECO cav....if i can find one in my pricerange w/options i want.
but my biggest thing i was looking for a discussion was what do u think would be involved i a swap like this,
how much money, time, difficulty....stuff like that.
anyone can help with ideas on that???
ChevyBoi89 wrote:blucavvy wrote:u can have my eco, for 4,000. it's got an intake too.....
woulda deff considered it if it were a 2 door, if you were in ohio, and didnt tint the lights and paint interior!
but only if it had all that, and about 80,000 or less miles on it! woulda perfered it to be a 04-05 tho, and not
an 03...heard the eco's from 04-05 had better fueling systems or something!
03-05, different ringlands and rod redesign.
2002s tend to break connecting rods
03-05 tend to crack ringlands.
03-05 rail is prettier
02 rail works with LSJ injectors.
