Hey,
Trying to get a feeler on if I can make some cash on this deal.
This 1997 Grand Am, if the head gasket was fixed, the whole car cleaned up etc, what would you pay for it?
Think I could get 1000 out of it? The only problem I foresee is the 200K+ miles.
Thanks

keep looking in my opinion!

You'd be lucky to get $700 in running condition.
2010 Subaru Impreza WRX Limited
1999 Cavalier Z24 Supercharged
1999 Grand AM SE (Beater Car)
1997 GMC Sierra
2007 Honda CBR 600RR
2005 Honda TRX450R
you won't make enough money to bother trying to flip it. You'll struggle selling a 200k mile car to anyone. Someone will likely buy it, but it might take awhile, and it won't be a quick flip. If you could get it for 100-200, i'd probably start considering at that point.
Thanks everybody.
I found out it has the 2.4 in it. I believe I could do the head gasket and get it all cleaned up and what not for less than $100. If I could get it for 300 then I'd be in it total for about $400. I'm still debating it, leaning more towards no, but still debating, lol. I'm not lookin to turn a huge profit, just a little to throw on some loans and every little bit helps.

Oh god, my mom has a '97 and I would pay to have it taken away haha! She's got maybe 130,xxx miles, not exactly sure, but that car is pure garbage, all sorts of things going wrong. She gets upset when we tell her all that's wrong with it, so now we don't & we're waiting to see how long it's going to last. My husband just found what we believe is a sludge in the oil haha... She previously had a '92 GA that had coolant in the oil. A friend of mine defaulted on payments & actually let his '99 get repo'd. He went broke on repairs because it was always broken, it actually broke down on his way home from picking it up for a repair once haha! Not sure if the general public knows how bad they are, but I wouldn't risk trying to flip something like that.
