My dad's got a Pontiac Solstice GXP with the GM upgrade kit. Love that car.
Yes I have a 2008 brazen solstice gxp. hptuned by me with a hahn intercooler and AIS stage 1 meth injection. about 6k miles on the clock. Est 290whp. It's lots of fun, and I'm looking forward to a turbocharger upgrade in the no so distant future.
I hear there's a very active kappa community in the delaware/maryland/virginia area. they actually toured the local (delaware?) production facility as a group before it was shut down. That would have been a sweet trip.
I like the sky alot more than the solstice, though some body kits with the solstice are pretty hot
1989 Turbo Trans Am #82, 2007 Cobalt SS G85
Sky was considerably more money. I'm lucky to have this one. Plus, the chrome spackled all over it makes for a gaudy display.
I'm not terribly fond of any kit or valence for the solstice. True to RK, they made the front bumper so low as to make it undriveable. Thier sky package is pretty!
don't mean to get off topic, but I don't think the Opel is a kappa, because the engine is mid mount... kappa is front mount, rwd.
^^^ Opel Roadster (not Speedster) is basically a rebadged Sky ^^^
I've got an '08 Sky Redline. Chilipepper red,tan top. GM upgrade kit,RPi race exhaust,RPi catless downpipe.RPI intercooler upgrade,DDM billet front calipers, blah, blah, blah. Tuned it with HPtuners. Ran a 13.16 pass at the track before they told me I can't run a convertible faster than 13.49 without a rollbar

There was a guy on solsticeforum that claimed to run a 12.98 with his own HPtune, lightweight wheels, and a K&N drop in.
It's pretty hard to state my number when I hear stories like that. The more experienced drag racers expect my car should easily run mid 13's. I would take great pride in getting kicked off the track for being too fast
I don't take it seriously anyway. I simply go to the track so that I can run the car out. I do wish I had HP tuners handy. If only to see what was going on with my engine. I am glad to hear that it has been calibrated for the GMPP tune.

Performanceautowerks has options from a standard fare LS2 to a 1000hp twin turbo LS7. Prices are installed with T-56 trans, beefed up rear end and re-valved struts.
I was watching an aquaintance of mine sit on a well built LS1 and tranny. It's too bad for me that he found something to put it in. Of course, he was surely to find something to put it in. A SBC could find it's way into almost anything.
I am happy with the GXP+ GMPP tune power levels at this point. Surely it's not my dream car. An LSsomething would make it somewhat closer
.
I, pretty regularily, browse the various vidoes of kappas with V8 conversions. There are several offering the swap. It surely would make one ugly, but still pretty car. The making of a real classic. Still, a big power 4 would be something to brag about.
There's a guy in my hometown that has a black Pontiac Solstice done my Mallett Cars. It's a single turbo LS7. YUM!
