How does near-ZR1 power levels for way less money than a Z06 sound to you? That's what supercharger-maker Techco is promising with its latest kit, which adapts its proprietary Reverse-Rotation Twin-Screw Supercharger for the Chevrolet Corvette.
"Our Techco Twin-Screw Supercharger Kit for the Corvette is the culmination of everything we've learned in design and development since we first began supercharging V8 engines more than a decade ago," said John Spruill, vice president of engineering for Techco. "With our large 3.0-liter displacement supercharger, the throttle response on-boost is amazing. It's a real blast to drive."
For a meager $8500 ($10,000 if you want it polished), Techco is offering what it claims is the only supercharger that will fit underneath a stock Corvette hood. Ready to mate to the GM LS2, LS3 and LS7 V-8s, Techco claims that on just 6 psi of boost the supercharger can increase the engine's airflow by 50% and raise power by impressive amounts. Bolt one to your stock, base-model, LS3-powered Corvette and Techco says that 6 psi is good for 600 hp and 535 lb-ft, a solid 170-hp and 111-lb-ft gain over the stock 430 hp and 424 lb-ft and just 38-hp and 69-lb-ft short of the mighty ZR1.
that's just for starters. If you'd rather slay ZR1s than try to keep up with them, Techco will also offer upgrades that bump the boost pressure to 10 psi and beyond and kick the output up to 650 hp and more. Pricing for the upgrades has not been announced yet.
"The ground-up design is advanced in every way," said Techco Chief Engineer Bill Tally. "From the in-house manufacturing of our Reverse Revolution rotor screws; front intake system; long, high-flow runners; stand-alone 8-rib drive system; and our patented dual A-Frame Intercooler system, no area of the supercharger was overlooked or taken for granted. This is a complete rethink and a clean sheet design that will take the industry by storm."
Techco says the compact design allow for air to enter through the front of the supercharger rather than the rear, minimizing both the distance the air has to travel and the resistance it encounters. The wide body of the supercharger and Techco's A-Frame dual-intercoolers allow for long intake runners that increase torque and an efficient air-to-water cooling system that keeps the air temperature down. The result is minimal restriction, minimal temperature gain, and maximum performance from even small levels of boost. The kit also comes with a new harmonic balancer, an eight-rib serpentine belt (upgraded from the stock six-rib belt) and a cold-air intake with high-flow, open-element filter.
Near-ZR1 performance for as much as $15,000 less than the starting price of a Z06? Sounds like a pretty good deal. And if Corvettes aren't your thing, Techco has other options for you. Techco's Reverse Rotation supercharger made its debut last year on Mopar V-8s and can be added under the hood of your Charger, Challenger, Magnum, 300 or V-8-powered Jeep. Shortly thereafter, it founds its way under the hood of the Mustang. Now that Techco has moved on to GM engines, a kit for the new Camaro is expected to debut next month.

I saw some of the stuff they have developed for Mustangs and really liked them. Good to see them do soemthing for the Vette's with a C5 being on the list of next vehicles for me

looks to much like a mustang top end , LMAO
not sure 8500 is worth it , i can do a 2300tvs with a 8-10 rib set up cheaper
"a meager $8500." lol
very nice.
PFFT secret cams?! pm me if you want a real upgrade.
mmm.. a supercharger for the price of a crate engine... if you go polished, that is
fitting under teh hood of a stock corvette... sleeper potential... atleast, compared to toher vettes
Hmmmmm
Nah, don't need it
I'll keep my N2O
It is very very nice though

When I hear "Techno Supercharger" it reminds me of the Disco Potato LOL
"Techco is offering what it claims is the only supercharger that will fit underneath a stock Corvette hood."
Obviously they did not research this claim before making it.

That's kind of funny, but what do you think of when you hear "Tech
Co Supercharger?" You know, the name of the company.
Jut givin you @!#$, I actually thought the same thing at first, I had to reread the thread title like 4 times before TechCo instead of TechNo kicked in for me.
I know its Techco, that's why I quoted it, I looked at it and thought Techno, but initially readingTechno Supercharger the first thing that came to my mind was the disco potato (slang term for a GT28R if I remember right) LOL
Haha yes it is
and it's a damn good little turbo too.
