I saw this on craigslist, and something within me has been seriously jonsen for one of these. i think it is a pretty decent machine. i am not a major fan of the contour or ford (my wife has one and it is crap and i had a 93 taurus, good memories in the car a lot of back seat action with several a broad but car was crap).. what do you think?

So it's a Taurus SHO inside?
2010 Honda Fit LX
junk ass car in my opinion, even though it has the dohc and manual i still think its crap, i havent seen one in person for a few years, but last time i checked a 2.4 or eco will blow that thing out of the water. about as fast as a 95-2000 sedan auto with a 2200. but if thats what ur looking for then good for u.
I took one for a test drive about 3 years ago, it was all-around a pretty decent car. Not a ton of power, but it pulled well. Comfortable, even with 90+K miles the car was still solid, a pretty nondescript vehicle if you want to have fun in the twisties while hauling you and three friends or family members comfortably. Since the newest models are now nearly 10 years old, I don't think I'd buy one unless it was in mint condition. Also remember, engine parts are the same as a regular Contour, but different... and usually expensive
junk... when i had my 99z24 I raced a svt focus and contour on i 94 me in the middle and the two on each side. all black cars and the little jbody worked them both, It was a classic moment thats for sure.
you can find info at www.contour.org I had a 99 svt contour.
my dad has a svt contour a few years back. I wanna say it was 2000 but could of been a year or two older. Bought it cause he found it dirt cheap and ended up selling it for profit. I loved driving that thing. It was a very well balanced car. Not a large amount of power but the suspension and handling made it fun. The seats in it were very nice and gave you a lot of support in the turns. Very fun car to drive and the exhaust tone was nice. Then again his only had like 30k miles on it so at this high mileage I don't know if its such a good idea to get it or not.
Great cars for the time, 195hp with a close ratio 5 speed and great suspension. They're capable of great things and many have modded them by swapping in the Duratec 3.0 liter V6 bottom ends.
http://www.svtperformance.com/forums has a CSVT forum that has more info.

No, dude a lot of back seat action in the taurus ie sexual intercourse.
hahaha FTW

Ok, really? Stop bragging on the internet that you had sex in your car.
No one cares, we have all had sex before.
relax dude, no bragging just reminising (if i spelled that right)

I say its a pretty decent car. Make sure you find one that has been well taken care of. They are know for oil starvation. Make sure they run at least 6.5 quarts of oil in the car to prevent the probelms. I wouldnt mind having one.
"Remember do what you like because you have to drive it."--Me
There are some massive idiots on here.
No bolt on 2.4 or Eco is going to "blow it out of the water" power wise. My local track way back in the day I saw one running 15.0's with basic mods.
Its a decent car, plenty of potential, good handling and balance. They're also getting old. Buyer beware.
O noes!

And my buddies bone stock Eco went 15.2. Your point???

get your s**t straight. thats a 15.5 car stock and with i/h/e maybe 15.3. a 1sv manual eco stock 15.1-2 with i/h/e can pull a 14.9. you sir are retarded.
Not retarded, correct. And who gives a crap if a bare bones Cavalier is hanging with a it on a dragstip? It rides and handles alot better regardless.
It might be a 15.5 with one of you none driving crack heads behind the wheel. But low 15's is possible.
O noes!

This is what happened to my 99, however the Duratec 3L is a very easy swap and you can pick up a low mileage motor from LKQ for around 500 bucks.

LOL. Your first contribution was to say how many idiots there are on here because those cars can do 15's with mods, and a 2.4 or Eco with bolt-ons couldn't blow it out of the water, then you come back with the fact that low 15's are possible?
You're definitely the idiot here. Some of the "none driving crack heads" you are arguing with could probably smoke you in race of equivalent vehicles.
Let me break this down for you:
A couple of people state that the car is junk, and that a 2.4 or ECO will "blow it out of the water."
PLEASE explain how a car that runs low 15's easily, with a couple of people running high 14's (check contour.org forums, I did) is getting "blown out of the water?" What's the difference if its got DOHC and a close ratio 5 speed, and only a V6? It's only a 2.5 liter engine, very close in size to a 2.4. Yet it cranks out 45-50 more HP? Must be garbage.
You clearly are a bunch of "Government Motor" nut swingers that are so brand loyal it's stupid.
O noes!

wow.....was your mom on a bunch of meth when she was pregnant with you, because your a crackbaby. who gives a @!#$ if a ulgy old sedan can pull a 15 with $750-1000 in moderate mods on its mighty v6. (omg change out struts and springs on and its handles just fine) i can promise my 20 year old car with the mods it has, could blow your @!#$ away and the fastest contour you could find.(i pull a 13.0-12.8 @18psi, and only spent $700 in parts to get there...just wait till my bottom end is in. its gonna take a outlaw class car to keep up) so take your crackbaby comments and go praise that nasty sedan some where else. we already proved you wrong.
I actually agree with what Smokey is saying
If your racing your low 15 second car (1SV cav) vs a mid (-low) 15 second car your obviously not blowing it out of the water.
An example of blowing a car out of the water was when I went to a track day with some friends and ran my Fit, I got lined up against a Galant VR4 on 4 wheel slicks...... his low 9 to my mid 18...... that's what i would call "blowing it out of the water".... not winning maybe 1/4 of a second.

so it doesnt exactly blow a modified contour svt away, but the svt that could pull a 15.0 would have to be in GREAT mechanical shape and have at least i/e. 95% of the ones out there have 125,000k+ miles on them and didnt have frequent oil changes. i was speaking in terms of this exact car he was looking at. if he finds one with 27000 orign. miles great it might pull a 15.3. but THAT car would be lucky to break a 15.7-15.9.
whos galant??? id like to do some more research on sub 10s dsm suspension systems. weve got our slicks and tube k memb, but thats it so far.
People waving around their 15-second-car weiners... now that's funny right there.
