Yamaha V-star 650 I painted.

Well I figured mise well post this. This is my Step-dad's Yamaha V-Star 650. I painted it last winter for him, it is painted Atomic Orange Metallic(off the 09 Corvette) and Deep Black two-tone, with orange "ghost" flames airbrushed by a guy I work with and pinstriped by Scout who does all our pinstriping at my work. I can't say I know much of this bike, Hell at my work we customize and paint Harley baggers all the time and I really don't know much about Harley's either other then how to take them apart and our parts look better then stock lol. He bought it last Summer and he moved out to Vegas for work for a while so I tore it down to repaint it for him while he was gone. He also had bought some other things that I don't really know much details on but simple things like new exhaust, new taillight bracket, saddlebags, and some other small things. My only interest in it was I did all the body/paint work on it and took the pictures lol. So here are some pictures of how it turned out.. to me it needs slammed at least lol

So what you guys think?

From far away, it looks kinda blah....bland

But when you got closer with the pictures it really started to stand out and I love the tank

Great bike man. Metric bikes ftw!!!!!!!!

My Father is currently working on a Yamaha Roadstar that was recently damaged in a storage unit fiasco.

I would love to get a V-star myself. Seams like the perfect platform for modding!

thanks low fire. I agree on the bland thing but it wasn't really ment to be flashy.. just different. Its actually more like a wannabee harley due to the paint scheme being like the special edition harleys lol

thanks jay. At my work we just bought a yamaha road master i think.. it has like a 1300 in it.. but I guess we are going to start making parts for metric bikes to kind of get out in the market more so thats pretty cool

I personally am not really a big bike fan.. I like seeing the ones we do compared to stock and can appreciate a nice looking bike but don't know much other then that lol. I like sport bikes too but i can't picture myself riding either so I stick with my J..lol.

I love the orange color but I think it would have looked a little more "complete" if you had done black on the sides of the saddle boxes with flames like you did on the side of the gas tank... the large, uninterrupted orange surface is kind of blah... but as for quality of the job, its very nice, can't knock you there. I just would have done some things a little different from the creative perspective...
