GM is considering a sale of its medium-duty truck unit, The WSJ reported.
GM's models in this segment are the Chevrolet Kodiak and GMC TopKick, which are built in Flint, Mich. GM sells about 40,000 of these medium-duty trucks a year, according to Ward's AutoInfoBank, at prices which span the mid-$20,000 to mid-$40,000 range.
Among potential buyers is truck maker Navistar International Corp.
The sale of the marginally profitable unit could help generate cash as GM works to restructure its North American business, as well as sharpen the company's focus on its core light-vehicle business.
The potential deal was first reported by the Flint Journal, citing a United Auto Workers union official.

Sounds like a good fit. International makes good trucks so that's not a bad idea. Really GMC as a whole should have it's plug pulled anyway. It really is the most useless and unnecessary brand GM has. They should sell off the exclusive products and can the chevy truck clones and delete the brand period.

Will this include GMC's Military/heavy vehicle division, or just the midsize?
That's a good looking school bus. lol
I think it's a good idea, and GMC should be nixed and integrated into Chevrolet/Buick. Same money on rebadging the exact same thing.
I want that school bus!! lol

This is what GM should have kept for GMC: Med-duty trucks.

i agree no one needs a sierra just so gm can add a few grand extra in the cost of a silverado by adding a gmc logo and some better shocks
