allright fold as some of you may know i own this bike
kawasaki vulcan 900 custom
i have the chance to pick this up
HD XL1200 N (nightster)
now both are going to have about the same monthly but the HD has pipes, an opened up intake, and sissy bar, plus forward controls and gobs more power
im having a hard time figuring out if its worth it to go for the nightster, or if i should just stick with my vulcan
oppinions please!
here is the actual bike for a better comparison
i'd pick the one that's more comfy...
personally, i don't feel like i fit very well on the sportsters i've sat on.
Sportster looks very sweet but of course it comes down to how they ride and comfort

tell me about it, im 5'5 and i dont fit super well on a sportster, especially ones with mid controls, very uncomfortable in my oppinion
the big difference between the two is the power. With the HD i have absolutely no problem getting up to 75 and higher and maintaining it comfortably. and its not too bad to sit on, the forward controls are not as far forward or laid out as i am used to on the vulcan, but its much better than the mid contols, yuck
With the vulcan on the other hand i have nice looks, love the color, and i can stretch out with the forward controls just how i like, but riding on the highway at 75+ you can really hear the engine pulling on its last rpms as the bike has very little top end power
the good thing is that if i do trade in the vulcan i wont be upside down on it as they say, ill come out just about even, and would have been way over if i hadn't financed that stupid maintenance plan.
So im still looking at both, one thing that is kind of swaying my decision is that it is indeed a harley and ive always wanted a harley, secondly with the rear seat and the sissy bar it would be a much safer and comfortable ride for the misses
but keep the oppinions coming folks!
I say of course go with the HD
But I am biased as well
i didnt know you had a nightrod?!
im going to be applying soon to be either your or exclusive's adopted money child
I never announced it here, and never got any good pics because I was too busy trying to ride it before I got deployed over here to the desert
I might as well throw the two crappy pics that I have of it up in my own thread
Gotta go with get what's most comfortatable. I had a Suzuki GSX-R and it was great till we went on long road trips to ride on some great canyon roads. That seat and driving position was hell. I've since weened off bikes but if i got another it's be the cushier GSX-F this time. Because i liked the look and power of the R but wanted more comfort. I have to say though the HD looks nice.

meant to say excessive not exclusives and yeah id love to see some pics!
my roommate just traded his shadow in on a nightster. at first he didnt like it but decided to go with the sale anyway. No he loves the thing, once he got more used to the handling and power of the bike hr found it to be a more fun to ride. hes only about 5'5'' too, thought his has forward controls, which i believe is a simple mod.

yeah believe me i loved the nightster, and would have taken it home but they could not get me financed without a cosigner and im sick of racking up credit for someone other than myself if im the one making the payments
its irritating when you have flawless credit like myself, but because i dont have stacks of reports i cant get financed for a bike i can easily afford
