Fortunate for me, he just became partner in a company called The Turbo Shop that specializes in turbo sales, service and rebuilding. My car was going to be stored for the winter at his shop anyways, so we took the project slow while he custom fabricated every piece by hand out of type 304 stainless. That includes both the intake and turbo manifolds. Well, not really the turbo manifold, that was made heavy duty out of Sched 10. Here's the general info:
Garret GT3071R w/ a free float .63A/R turbine housing
Tial 38mm Wastegate
Forge BPV
FMIC (28X8X3.5)
HD Turbo Manifold
Riding on a 1 bar spring while I learn how to tune and mess around with it. I will eventually bump up to ~22-23psi once I get the hang of it and get my LC-1 hooked up to HPT Pro. The only thing I still need to get pictures of is the mounted turbo/dump underneath. The car sits two hours away and I'll be picking it up next weekend. Unfortunately, we finished too late yesterday and as my wife put it to 06Black last night, her lame ass can't make that drive in the dark. After being w/o my car for 6 months, driving home without it even though it ran was a very hard thing to do last night, but it's better than watching my wife drive her TBSS into a tree...
If you even think about mentioning how dirty my car is, I will e-kick you in the nuts...
...If you love dogs, I'm sure you spotted our pup in the back of Katie's TBSS!
Only decent video I have from the initial start up and drive. I love my wife to death, but sometimes she is not the best videographer...

nice setup.
Rodimus Prime wrote:dyno #s?My guess - mid to high 300 whp. The lsj probably let out a sigh of relief when you started it and it realized it had a turbo instead of the eaton
Rodimus Prime wrote:If it fails to put down more than 330 its not even worth turboing, you can get that from supercharginghas someone put down that much on the MP62? Or are you refering to a blower swap? I though mid to high 200s was the limit for the Eaton, and that was after extensive supporting mods that may very well add up to thousands of dollars
Rodimus Prime wrote:280-290 is about as good as it gets on m62 on a stock motor internally, with a tvs it extends it another 40-50hp, so around 340ish is as good as you will get with a supercharger, but a blower swap only runs you about 1600, far less than any turbo even homebrew kitsI see. but you are going to spend a lot to get to that 280-290 on the mp62 - pulleys, heat exchangers, meth injection, lots of tune time, ect. The exhaust you can negate, because you'll need it either way (turbo or supercharged).
So for a turbo kit to only make 350ish its not worth the extra cost, well tuned turbo setups have gone 400+ before though on a stock motor.
