Used oil report for our 99 Outback

I'm very happy with this.

Oil is Maxlife 5w-30 and was run for 5K miles. Engine has over 137K on it. I'll be running this oil 6,500 miles next time as suggested.

sweet deal where do I send my oil to be tested. I have amsoil that I ran for 16000 miles and would like to know if I can take it even further. Also the oil I need tested has sat in a jug for awhile would this be a problem?

Thanx Charles

Yup. Good too for finding problems that you normally wouldn't know existed. We did one on Susan's Sunfire and found out that 3% of the sample was fuel. The sample size is about 3.5oz. So just over a tenth of that sample was fuel. So that means over 2% of her oil is fuel. Not good. It drastically changed the properties of the oil. Never would have known without the analysis. I posted the results in THIS thread.

BTW I'm still trying to figure out why the thing is running so rich if anyone has suggestions

Charles - As long as the jug was clean when you put the oil in it and you kept it sealed it should be OK. Just shake it up real good before you send it in and let them know that's how you had the oil stored. You order the test kits for free and then you pay when you send it in. Either by check or credit card. Post office shouldn't give you any hassle about it. Let me know if you need more info.

On a side note, I just changed the oil on MY Sunfire. I'll post that up in the maint. section when it comes back in. It's losing a quart every 2000 miles. I'm curious to see what it shows. Or maybe I'm not
