Yhea, I know it is 2009, but think it's 80's again, would watching these commercials improve your perception on Pontiac as the "Excitment" division?

i love that they were so simple yet got the point across.
They had confidence in the product and it showed. Today GM comes off looking like whiney little bitches. In ads like the ones for the Malibu. It's easily the best car in it segment yet every ad is they have to feature the Camry and Altima and make some sniping remark. If they made a cool ad about the car like these the Malibu would sell it's self.

I remember those commercials...especially the one with the Sunbird / 2000 turbo with the little jingle "We Build Excitement."

Funny, WE always critque GM for it poor vehicle quality, but to be honest, those offerings were pretty much all more exciting then any car in the competitions garages. Excluding a few such as the Supra, 300zx, RX-7. AND even those don't have anything on an 88 Fiero GT, in black with those sexy positive offset rims. (in first vid). DROOL. WHY did it all have to go down hill in the 90's....

God I miss my firebird now. I always loved 80's cars and most of thise were pontiacs. They lost that fire for sure. I mean it was known that the cars were clones of chevys, but nothing like now. At least the 82 firebird was designed to have a non chevy engine in it. Turbo 301 IIRC. I hope they get back to their roots and do better than that A$$plug G5

I remember my old 86 Grand AM thee one in the commerical was a SE the first commerical I say is for the 88 model year due to the sunbird that was show was a a 2nd gen which didnt start till 88
oh man i remember those, i used to love the old song, "get on your pontiac and ride, pontiac ride!" insert 80s guitar riff
