ISO 800 is to high, I'm guessing you were already using tripod but with a tripod bump it down to 100 ISO and take it with the self timer.

Not bad though can I have the Vette? and Congrats on getting an Alpha

They could have been drawn by four fingered monkeys for all I care, a picture of a Vette is always great. I'm very jealous and it's an awesome car!

No tripod Ryan, those were all by hand

I just set it on the night setting and went at it

Like I said, I just got it yesterday and am learning....I'll try with a tripod next time when i do it at night

Love the vette and the pics. My next purchase is going to be a nice slr camera. I'm just starting to research them, what model did you go with?

tripod and lower iso and some work with depth and aperture and you will be rocking it, nice start!

If you're interested in some tips this is what I noticed...

I'm assuming this was shot in auto mode. Bring a tripod next time and use a remote shutter release or set it to the timer mode. I'm assuming you don't have a nice external flash to work with, they work wonders - if you do seriously become interested in photography, make that your next big purchase (make sure your passion doesn't die first, because camera equipment isn't cheap!). Try to Increase your aperture size (lower focal length) to get a bit of a background blur and look for ideal lighting locations to really make the car stand out. Framing is important too, your pictures look for the most part like they were shot with a point and shoot - take some time to frame the car a bit differently, and get some varied interesting backgrounds.

Good luck!

Really? That's all you could come up with? Constructive crticism is not a strong point of yours is it? Whether giving or taking it

Anywho, thanks to everyone else for the comments and advice

NICE! Love the Vette, and the pics look great. I too just got a Sony DSLR, but I got an Alpha A300. And are those rear fender flares stock? If so, I've never noticed them before... lol

No, they are definitely not stock

Had to put them on so I could fit 19x12 wheels with 345 tires on

step 1: drive to pittsburgh, pa
step 2: give me the keys
step 3: take pictures of me driving away
step 4: use pictures to reminisce about the car you used to own.

Car is looking good chris.

Nothing upset me at all about what you posted, read what I said again

I said I was new to it, I knew that they weren't good at all, and I asked for advice

You failed to do anything to help but just run your cock socket just like you do in AG all the time

If you have nothing constructive to say, stay out of my thread.......damn I can't wait for Dave to implement those new tools
