Well I have been looking for a newer car/suv for awhile now.
I was checking out TONS of auto's and I noticed that Dodge Durangos seem to be reasonably priced with pretty decent miles on em.
Pretty much everyone I am looking at has from 40k to 75k miles. They are the SLT models with the 5.7L V8. And are priced between $8k and $11k.
I am making this post to see (hopefully) if anyone on here has had any experience with the model years of the Durangos from 04-06.
What should I look for mechanically? Are there alot of problems with them? Transmission? Engine? ETC???
Any other same size SUVs I could check out with no more than 75k on em for about the same price?
Any help would be great. As I plan on purchasing some kind of auto within the next month.
Thanks.
Really, really bad on gas....
The few people I know who have them have lots of issues with them, though they are mostly little annoying ones....
Though one is burning oil at 50k.......
yeah I have heard like 12-13 city and 18-20 hwy.
What are the "LITTLE" annoyances? (sp)
also, I like Tahoes, Suburbans, but even with 100k+ miles, they are still in the teens price wise.
are they that good?
The car I currently drive is a 97 Mits. Diamante LS, 199k, pretty much all orig except the basics.
So I would like to get a SUV or big sedan, that will atleast last that long.
i have a 2004 jeep grand cherokee. It has a little over 100k and no problems (knock on wood). They are great vehicles and have plenty of options even the base model which is the laredo. Id look into these. I bought mine a year ago for 6k with 107k.

Then don't buy a Chrysler product.

Avoid the durango, there is a reason it's so cheap. You get what you pay for.
