i have a friend who is dropping one of these in his civic and thinks he will wreck me, it wont be till summer of 2010 and i will have my 2.2 l61 engine built just wondering what you guys know about them and what i should to do to beat him thx

seriously though, the K20 is a good motor, the L61 is a good motor, its up to driver, and what you have done. "built" can mean many things.
my friends RSX has a fully "built" N/A K24 w/ k20 head stg. 3 racing cam 650cc injectors and a decent tune. he put down 305 horse and 338 tq. that car is bad ass....
on the other hand, i have a friend with a "built" B18 in his civic which puts down 155 horsepower.... your now seeing that built can mean different things i hope.
both cars will rip, obviously the RSX would win.
That k20 should put out 200hp to the wheels. The respond VERY well to mods and love boost. Built to me means 300+ hp or you're just playing around. So unless you're "built" he's gonna smoke you. Sorry...thats not a biased opinion thats a fact. Like I said unless you're truly built he's going to have more power in a lighter car.

x2. That K20 motor is a VERY potent motor in its stock form. With a little work, they are monsters.

Yea my original plan was a K24/K20 swap into my integra but ended up going with a built GSR.
Yeah they LOVE boost. Theres a kid around here that has a RSX and on 10 pounds its putting down 400. All on a completely stock block. So i'll agree. He'll probably kill you
If all you have is what's in your profile, you're gonna get slaughtered. You might be putting down 140-150 (150 is pretty generous of me, too) at the wheels, and a K20 will net him an easy 200 WHP. Plus it's a lighter car. You'd have to put a lot more work into it than a few bolt ons to beat him.

i say you'll take him because he'll never get it to work. that engine is totaly different from any other honda set up right down to where the intake and exhaust manifold are. youd be better off buying a used wrecked rsx type s and doing body work.

well it wouldnt be till next summer, hes just tired of me wrecking him all the time so he wants to up the anti.. but by the time he would have that i would be pushing around the same i think, if not more. would be a fun race.. i just cant lose to him

As long as its a K20A2 motor I will put money down you make 200hp at the wheels. Put that up on a dyno and tweak a few numbers and 200 is VERY easy to get. bolts on and you are easy over 200. Trust me this was going in the integra before I found the deal on my motor I have now. I have done plenty of homework on it and I know a few guys personally who have K20's in their civics. A girl who has a boosted K20 DC2 integra

If its an RSX then its K20A3 160hp if its a Type S its a K20A2 200 HP if its a K20A its a 220hp JDM Honda Integra DC5

rsx has a K20 BUT its the basic K20 a3
the K20 being referred to in the thread is most likely the K20 a2 or the K20A which is a badass motor, its straight JDM YO!.
if his friend is wasting his time putting a K20 in the civic, its 99% likely to be a K20 A
TC would have the advantage in your situation. they are pretty quick stock for stock. the base RSX is a dog.
