Not your typical choice for a build and certainly not one you'd expect to see on JBO but I love these cars and I've always wanted to do a V8 conversion on one. So, I thought I'd share.

I live in Minnesota so it took a while to find one that wasn't rusted to hell. At the moment I'm just nursing it back to health to continue driving it as my DD.
So far, that's included:
Standard tune up stuff
rehanging the exhaust
replacing the weather stripping and window scrapers
all four rotors, pads, fittings, and lines
Rebuilt front hubs
both lower ball joints
struts and shocks
replacement and rewiring of the tail lights

I also replaced the factory speakers with infinity's and threw my cavalier system into it. It's got a ways to go yet but I think I'll be done for awhile. I've got a few things to finish up and/or start on the cavalier before I can dig into this one. But when I do, i'd like to go LS1 but will probably go LT1 with a 6 speed. Plus, a bunch of other stuff like coilovers, aluminum control and trailing arms, adjustable panhard and torque bars, adjustable sway bar end links and poly bushings.

lol. Thanks? I don't have too many interesting pictures...I've only had the car since October. These were before I ditched the old man hubcaps and put my old chrome rings on.

For a car with just about 200k miles on it the engine bay was pretty clean. No leaks, No knocks....runs like a champ.

came with front and rear sway bars from IPD. I think the first owner used it to pull a small trailer. The red wire holding the exhaust up was temporary...i already replaced the rubber hangers

Threw some Kappas in the doors. I like them. However, i think the 4" in theI rear was a bad a choice. I should have known better...i don't really have a decent mid range with these.

There was a Kenwood something or other. I took it out and put my Pioneer DEH-P680 into it. But, that's my garage stereo and not very functional so I gutted my Cavalier system and installed the DEH-P880PRS instead. Much better.

I also chucked these in the trunk. They're old....need to be replaced. But for now they still sound good.

I've got a small laundry list of parts to throw in this thing...here are the highlights:

it's a long road.....but it's a hobby.

lol...i had a 240 wagon back in college that I finally had to sell back in '06. We needed a new washer and dryer...lol. I sold that pig for $2k with 254k on the clock. Still ran like a top!

Most of these parts are from Kaplhenke Racing. Uninteresting parts unworthy of posting like poly bushings and what not would be coming from IPD. IPDs been doing Volvo performance since 1936. Kaplhenke Racing....not so long. They have a team running an '88 245 wagon in autocross called "team wtf?" That's where they test these parts.

If your roommate is looking for stuff, miscellaneous OEM replacement parts are coming from Vlvworld.com. Cheapest place to find Volvo parts not found at your standard checker auto....like interior plastic. Stuff like the lower ball joints I get from rockauto if they have the right part numbers. Cheap German made ball joints for old european cars typically run with the likes of Moog believe it or not.
