" Aint nothin' but a Peanut!"
Damn...l. I love those. I rarely see them out on the road. Very classy cars
That's a real shame, Personally, I'd rather have an XLR then a Vette.
I've loved the XLR ever since I saw on in person, its quite amazing.

69.8mpg, get your facts straight.
its a shame, its a really good looking car. BUT, i've seen 2 on the road and they've been out like, 3-4 years? probably weren't selling too hot through $4.00 gas and global recession with a $100k price tag.
GO PATS!!!
They had a 100k pricetag?????
No way that is stupid I thought maybe 70 at most.
The proper way of using the word seen. It is not I seen it that would be I saw it. He has seen the car is the right way to use the word. English class is Cool. By the way thats my sig
The XLR-V had the $100K price tag. Mid $80K for the "base" version.^^

The XLR is endemic of why GM is in so much trouble now. Basically it's a car for nobody. It looks like a big comfortable cruising convertible like the Allante, but It's really just a much heavier Corvette with a smaller engine (100hp less than the base Vette) and no manual gearbox. So it doesn't ride all that well (at least not as well as othe cars of it's price) and it doesn't handle all that well either. Plus the automatic slushbox doesn't lend itself to fast driving. On top of that, like someone said, base price is 87,000$ which is ridiculous. Look at what it has for competition:
Jaguar XK convertible: 83,975$
Corvette convertible: 54,070$
BMW 650i convertible: 85,300$
Mercedes SL convertible: 98,500$
Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet: 87,000$
Dodge Viper roadster: 91,220$
A car is only as good as it's competitors. I mean Jeez, a droptop vette is 23,000$ LESS than the XLR. It's priced wrong.
The problem is that GM got away with selling Chevrolet Suburbans with Cadillac badges for 100,000$ and thought it could do the same with all it's cars. I'm glad it's gone. This is just another car in GM's roster that is priced too damn high; almost guaranteeing that the people who want it can't afford it, and the people who can afford it don't want it.
And if you think I'm being a jerk, just remember that they lost the Camaro and Firebird to that sort of schizo pricing scheme, and it was a long hard rocky road back. The XLR is dead because of GM and no one else.
by far one the best looking cars the automotive world has seen IMO. It would be nice if it had the power/handling to back it up, but quite honestly it doesnt need it... it just needs to look good
After reading all these replies, I guess I'm the only one that thinks it isn't that good looking. Especially for it's time. Too many straight lines and sharp angles. It almost looks like they were going for the market the early 90's SL500, except they updated the pricing for the new era but without really updating the styling from whatever early 90's design book they pulled it from.

You're not the only one. I think that trying to merge the look of the swoopy Corvette with the sharp edged CTS works about as well as mixing Bananas and Spaghetti. Individually they both work very well and I like them a lot, but combined? All you get is Bananaghetti and nobody wants that.
I've had the 'luxury' of driving both the XLR and a 2006 Corvette convertible. My dad owns the 'Vette, a customer the XLR. Between the two.. I don't know why ANYONE would give a flying @!#$ for the Caddy.. if you wanted a luxury sports convertible, get the 'Vette convertible, throw on a set of rims and do some custom inserts in the interior.. which still wouldn't bridge the horrendous price gap.
And honestly, the 'Vette was 100 times more fun to drive.. especially since the XLR is an automatic granny 'Vette and the 'Vette itself was a standard.
XLR dead? Good. Its just another failed mark-up project.. like the Allante.
