so I'm browsing for a new car....again. I absolutely hate my cavalier with a passion, I miss my old 'fire so friggen much!
Anyway, now that I have a real job, good salary etc, I'm looking into some nicer cars that I haven't previously been able to seriously consider...
08-09 VW GTI (my dream car for many years, not really sure why)
Older WRX (hate the new styling)
09 Mazda 6 (don't really like the new styling)
Older Mazdaspeed6 (too much $$$ for older car from what I've seen)
Mazdaspeed3 (too small? I'm 6'1"?)
Lancer GTS (kind of unknown new trim for Mitsu, 2.4l bit quicker than base)
So in looking, I came upon this guy...and I'm intrigued.

09 Mitsubishi Ralliart with ~3k miles for much less than invoice. Does anyone have any experience with them? It's basically a detuned, understyled EVO and if I can get one for the price of a GTS (or less) I'm definitely going to consider it. Unlike many, I'm in LOVE with the new gen Lancers and this one looks siiiiick. Plus almost 250hp would put a smile on my face.

You can fit into a Mazada Speed3. I'm 6'3" and have no issues when i was test driving them.
Other than that, I really can't say too much else. We had an 08 Evo in the shop couple weeks back and from what chris told me, it was a blast.
I personally want a wrangler or something I can have fun with.

Cody if this is true, it will probably bring this car back up to the top of my list. I haven't had a chance to get into one yet. Have you driven a speed3 or just a 3? I hear they friggen pull like crazy.

Speed3 is DAMN nice inside. Great bang for the buck.

BUT if you remember the C&D the new SS completely killed both the Speed & Lancer RA. (obliterated the lancer). The only drawback being the cardboard interior.

my friend is actually selling his orange mazdaspeed 3 lol. very nice and clean car to cruise in.
I've seen used speed6's for around 15k, and certainly less than 18k. The Lancer ralliart is not a bad choice though
Speed3's are freakin quick out of the box and even faster with a few mods.....gone up against a few in my WRX.....but i'm an AWD guy at heart...i'd try to find a Speed6
a local dealer has an 05 or 06ish speed6 with a few miles, but with a semi-performance minded vehicle like that I'm concerned that someone beat the piss out of it. I'd rather have a new car where I can take the time to properly break in the motor etc.
From the looks of it, I'm going to have to go test drive a speed3. It looks like it's a hands down winner in it's class. I looked into some reviews that had it up against many of the cars I'm looking at; WRX, LANCER, GTI, SS (yuck) and it's won overall everytime.

Those 2.3's that come in the Speeds take VERY kindly to bolt on's.
3rd gear scares the piss out of me.
I want one so bad...but I am in a toss up myself between a Speed3 and a Speed6
PS: I am 6'4" and 220lbs and fit in the Speed3 just fine.
Also get Grand Touring! =] Bose sound, leather, HID headlights and LED tails. Very nice.
the rear axles are weak in the speed6... id stick with the speed3 or maybe a 06+ GTI both great cars
o forgot to mention... you could also get a 05+ tC and turbocharge it and be faster then both of them for around the same price
^^^ What he said i just bought an 09 tC...love it just waiting to turbo it....fyi turbonetics warrenties your motor and trans if you buy from them.. and they garentee 300+ hp outa your tC...check it out
I thought about a TC for a bit last year but decided against it. I'm getting old enough now where modding isn't going to be much of a priority anymore. I still want a decently quick car but I'm not going to mess around with boosting it and all that bs.
Went and looked at the dealership lastnight, they have three speed3's, all GT's and all black. I was looking for a white non GT but we'll see, each had a sticker somewhere in the $23-24 range.
