How many people out there have been keeping and eye on the used car market especially with how the economy is going ??
anyone noticing a big difference or even a small one, when it comes to used car prices?
I am thinking uof upgrading soon myself and have just started browsing the traders and local classifieds and the dealers still have hight prices on used units. it makes more sense to buy new sometimes
any thoughts?

Psh the used market worked great for me. My car was stickered at 30k in 2006 i got it around half that with 20k miles.
But thats GM resale too.
are you referring to the G6 gtp? that does sound like a great deal
I have not set my eyes on anything yet, most likely mid size or full size and maybe even luxury

I've been keeping an eye on it somewhat. It does seem that private party has dropped a lot and there are some killer deals out there. Especially in the v8 models as well as the higher end more expensive cars. Dealerships have come down somewhat but your going to find a lot better deals going to a private party.
In my area prices actually went up. It seems like all the dealers had a chip on their shoulder too..no one wanted to deal. I walked out on a deal because they flat out told me they wouldn't negotiate the price at all. I have also been told by two dealers that the best interest rates they have seen with excellent credit is ranging from 6-10%. Thankfully I was able to pay cash for my car.
To buy my car I hit up like 10 dealerships total. About half were worth the time, the rest sucked. But it's like someone else said, it depends on your area.

Wow.. 6-10%????
My interest rate is 5.5% through my personal bank(perfect credit).. Whoever does financing through the actual dealership is a @!#$ moron.
I have noticed a crash in prices on mk4 VW's. Around here they are going for the same prices as J's in some cases.

I give up...
i'm buying a VW those people love trees, so they should love eachother too... "Andy"
Just don't buy a 7 year old 135 000km Civic Si for 11 000$ just like my friend did. LOL What an asshat.
Used car prices here in Quebec seem to be a bit lower. Pickup trucks are very cheap to buy now. You can get a fully equipped Silverado with 25 000km for around 19 000$. Like new and under half the original price.

lol thanks for the heads up
to date i have been buying a lot of beaters or cars under 10,000 thatI would drive until they fell apart.
Right now I have the civic and the Jbod both of which are, well, old and rusting lol
for my next car I want something newer and alot nicer, though I do not see the point of buying brand brand new when the depreciation is so high....... more like 1-2-3 years old.
I have not been looking at any particular car just yet, just browsing autotrader, craigslist, and kijiji to see prices and what I can get for what price

the price on cars are about the same but ive been looking at the 2nd gen tl type s, 1st gen tsx, wrx/wrx sti. Those cars prices seem to have stayed the same, but the cobalt ss t/c with only 44km not 44,000, 44, a brand new car is going for around $10, 000 below sticker at the dealer around 17 -19k. This is what ive seen in Toronto.
