This Friday the AC compressor in my Dakota started acting up(Yes, it was in the mid 80's here Friday). It started getting worse so I kinda freaked out and started seriously shopping around for a used car.
I hit about 5 dealerships from Friday-Saturday, ended up with a 2006 Grand Prix with 49K miles on the clock. Car is in excellent shape and looks to have been very well taken care of. I hated buying an auto, but the car is honestly very nice. It has a lot of creature comforts and is leaps and bounds better than what I was driving, not to mention I won't be missing the 9 mpg I was getting in my truck. Paid 9K out the door, they gave me a lot for me truck, including problems(the AC was not acting up when I took it to the lot thank God). I paid the rest cash so I'm set with no car payment.
@ used car lots: 3 of the dealerships I went to were BIG dealers in Tx. The first one had pretty much every vehicle priced at an outrageous amount..told me the best financing I could get was 6-10%, with excellent credit..and that they weren't really in the dealing mood. The second one wouldn't help me at all. I waited in the lot for 10 minutes, then called them and asked to see a sales associate. Waited another 15 minutes before I left. The lot was empty too.
-The last was a ford dealership. The first car I test drove was an 05 Focus with 80K miles. The car had a rough idle and was used, but otherwise OK. 2nd was an 03 Altima with 105k. The car barely started and I couldn't even drive it out of the lot the clutch was slipping so bad, not to mention the check engine light kept flashing. They were asking 8K for each vehicle.
^Seriously, who would even consider either of those?
I'll post pics sometime tomorrow, it's nothing fancy..bone stock aside from the sports package.

I would have loved to find a GTP. Those cars are sick! I am not sure if I have any mods planned for this car..honestly, it's pretty nice the way it is, so I'm probably going to leave it alone..maybe get an intake for it, but that's about it. Those GTP's are awesome though.
