I didnt know where to put this but since its on a 99' Saturn SL1, i figured it would fit here. Well I got a service engine light and that code popped up, anyone have any idea as to what it could be? I thought maybe it was the line pressure solenoid on the tranny but i am unsure. I have done a little research and that is all i have gathered. any help would be appreciated.

obviously, your first gear ratio is wrong

have you put on new tires lately? only time I've ever seen a code like that pop up was when some knucklehead had the wrong size tires on their car.... could be a speed sensor too I guess.

no new tires on the car. When i was looking up the code it mentioned that could be a possibility so i checked the resistance in the circuit to see if i had any opens or shorts to ground and nothing out of the ordinary. I also did a visual inspection on the sensor and it seemed to be ok. I would think that if the sensor would be failing or was erratic, that it would throw another code because the light had been coming on and off. Also I guess a big factor is that its not my car but my sisters. I googled the problem and i guess that in SL1 the line pressure solenoids tend to go out quite often and deal with the code i have. Im going to take it apart and check the solenoids to see what shape they are in and maybe throw in a new vss just to be on the safe side.

we've had it for a while, my sister drives it though and its hurting. I try to keep it maintained but my sister isnt persistent on maintenance.

any other problems....abs lights?
