TBSS, Thoughts?
Saturday, December 13, 2008 5:08 PM
So, i'm really debating on getting rid of the integra. I'm kind of wanting to get a Trail Blazer SS been thinking about it a lot lately. So anyone have any good/bad about them? I'm finding them pretty reasonable used. I've been lugging my daughter around a lot lately and its getting really annoying putting her in and out of the integra. Plus today I had my gf and her kid with me and it was REALLY annoying. Not to mention the thought of a fast SUV sounds great.

I know there are a few people with TBSS's on here. Let me know what you do and don't like. I've already checked out TBSSOWners.com or what ever it is lol.

its a nice truck, they do have there problems, but all of them are warranty things, theres a ton of work you can do to them but its not cheap! but yea they are fast, look great and lots of potential, theres tbssowners and theres trailvoy.com both are good sites, let me know if you have any other questions about them ill see what i can do for you, also this is the last year for them, are you looking for AWD or RWD?

Thanks DrPaul, I don't know I was thinking about RWD. What are your opinions? I know the AWD will get worse gas mileage. I was thinking things would be expensive but why would engine mods be expensive? It's an LS2 and I heard its the best bank for buck. What problems do you run into? I'm kinda looking at like an 06 or 07. Prolly 07 or 08 actually because it'll be when I get back from deployment.

Also, how is towing? That is another reason I was thinking RWD. I have a double axle trailer. So really if I get a TBSS I have no need for the truck. I'll prolly get rid of the truck and integra get a TBSS.

well, things for the motor are expensive, the exhaust i want is 1300, intake is the normal 250 tuning costs some money depending where you go, its expensive cause theres so much to do, tranny upgrades motor suspension, so many options it get expensive when u get em all done, as far as problems some people get whine's from the differential, there's a stupid seal around where the rear lisence plate bracket is an that goops out the adhesive but theres a TSB for it , theres a rock chip TSB for rockchips from rocks gettin flung up from the front wheels, towing is supposed to be good, if your towin a lot an heavy stuff definitely get the tranny cooler, i would try for the 08 they did change some minor stuff from the 07 to 08 and honestly with the pricing right now, its a good bargain, im gettin 12mpg, thankfully i dont pay for gas, but im also a lead foot and love to feel the power of the truck....not really sure what the RWD gets.

I heard the RWD gets around 16. Which isn't too bad I guess. I know the stock rims for them are a JOKE! I looked on ebay for a set of them and coulnd't find any less than 1600 without tires.

Yea I wanted some for my truck. I'll have to find the knock off ones if I decide to do that though. I want them black anyways. If I don't keep the truck I'll probably just give it to my dad. I only paid 1k for it and he could really use it.

i get 12city with AWD and gas pedal full throttle all the time....and with a tune/intake you can expect around 3mpg better now if i drove like a normal person who knows what it would be, you gotta remember this things heavy and has 400hp....its not an eco car at all lol

I personally wouldn't get one.. Gas is low, for now. But I'm sure in no time it'll be back over $4/gallon...

if i was worried about the price of gas i wouldnt buy a 43k dollar truck that has a gas guzzler tax on it lol....

They are definitely neat and fun, but goddamn heavy and poopie gas mileage. When gas prices peaked in CA you would be looking at $99 fill ups and that would take you about 260 miles.

You can pick up a nice SRT8 for roughly 25-30k with low miles and navi

Re: TBSS, Thoughts?

You pick up a fully loaded SS with navi and all for 20k with low mileage and I can tow and don't have to be in a chrysler.

I don't go through that many cars, lol

Lol.. as you can see drpaul saying his was 42k
and their already selling for 20k and under in my area 18k without leather and navi

you can pick up a 05 SRT8 for 25-30k and they still sell for around 40k new..

my point.. RESALE.. GM SUCKS...

Thats something I thought someone would look at when paying that much but I guess not?

Re: TBSS, Thoughts?

@!#$ty resale is perfect for him since hes lookin to buy used , so it benefits him, i bought new...and i dont plan on selling it anything soon lol

Re: TBSS, Thoughts?

Resale is only important if I plan on dumping the vehicle fast. Which I dont. This one will stick around for a while. Plus I hate chrysler products. Not saying they aren't good I'm just saying I don't like them at all. Also like said the @!#$ty resale is working for me.
