I came across a 02 V6 gt with 50,000 miles on it.
Anyone know anyone, or have expiernce with 3rd gen eclipses. I am not looking to mod the piss out of it. The most is an intake and other small stuff. So not really trying to mod or do anything to it racing wise.
It's a white vet. so I might buy it as a summer cruiser if I can get a good deal on it.
Opinions and input?
Appreciate it.

I like them. I would say put a mild drop, some decent rims on it, do some audio, and intake/exhaust and leave it.
My friend eric has one,its an auto and he runs 10.8's at the track.I can beat him with my cav.But they are great handling cars and the look good.Dont even try to change the plugs on those!!!!The intake covers up the whole valve cover close to the firewall. But they sound good stock, and the interior and gauges look real good.is it auto or manual trans?Whats the price?

It's a 2002 auto (I am not a stick person.. jsut like cruisin) convertable, an dhas just around 56 thousand miles on it.
It has a slight blemish on the front right of the bumper. They are asking $7800.00
I still plane to talk them down or demand they repaint the front bumper so the blemish is gone. I am going some day this week to look the car up and down, and insurence quotes, carfax all that lovely stuff.
But again, it's probobly going to be a nive summer cruiser with an intake, rims, possibly a drop. Not going for single digi's at the track.
Thanks for the input so far, much appreciated.

I think you would be hard pressed to find a 1/2 mile track anywhere......I'm guessing you meant 1/4
2010 Subaru Impreza WRX Limited
1999 Cavalier Z24 Supercharged
1999 Grand AM SE (Beater Car)
1997 GMC Sierra
2007 Honda CBR 600RR

yeah 1/8 mile, not a 1/4.I like his car alot but I hate automatics though. The first car I ever drove was a 1995 saturn sl1 5-speed sohc 1.9l.I guess thats why I love standard trans so much.

Sorry lit,I can tell you nothing but good things about his car,it feels very solid and doesn't have any squeaks or knocking. And has alot of miles but still runs very strong, and doesn't smoke a bit,but that may be different with the one your getting, just take it for a good test drive and see for your self.

My best friend has a 2001 GS w/ 110k miles on it - the interior quality is not much better than a cavalier with comprable milage on it. It rattles and squeaks. They are disposable cars just like the cav. The thing never really cornered that well for a sporty coupe, and now with all the miles, the ride quality has gone down hill as well. It never left him sit though, and the engine still runs strong, and the clutch has held up. Brakes lasted him almost 80k miles. Economy was not so great - with the 2.4L 5speed he could not break in to 30 mpg. They are just too heavy...
If your just getting it for a cheap cruising vert, than its a go, but don't expect it to be remotely fast or corner well. Its gonna be heavy and the auto saps what torque the 3.0 V6 has.

For thsoe who say fail, or find a new car. I respect that guys, but have you any input as far as driving one, or anything? Not being a d*ckhead, just trying to get the most info i can.
Thanks

Bring back the GSX!....
IDK if I'd want that, they'd probably ruin it. An AWD n/a V6 that weights 8,000lbs and is just hideous to boot.
