So I got board and took the notch out for a cruise and snapped some pics today. A little background on the car. It was originally an auto 4cyl. purchased for $400 with blown engine. The rear end came out of a totaled 89 gt and the motor and trans came out of another totaled 87?...cant remember anyway. My buddy built it in high school and sold it to his dad....he messed it up and now its back in his possession and looks like this. ( Yes I know its missing trim and jams don't match......winter time work and a bottle as well )
Motor nothing special. forged .30 over 11:1 pistons on stock rods, E303 BBK long tubes and catless H pipe into ravin mufflers with dumps.
The trans is rebuilt t-5 with a zoom clutch and the rear end has a locker and 4.10 gears. Last time at the track it was pulling 13.2-13.4 on 28X10.5 et streets.

Today
Please don't tell me it's the same car. lol
It's the exact same car....when his dad had the car it fell off jack stands cracking the rear bumper and skirts, and messing up the gas tank....then backed his dakota into the front....haha than it sat so my friend bought it back and it's going to be a track only car instead of a dd....I miss the old color but it will change once he gets heads and upper/lower intake manifold for the car. Then I think it's either black or really dark green metallic.
I never really was a fan of the body kit though....
i have never been a mustang fan. and i hate fox bodies the worst.
no offense.
None taken.....they are a dime a dozen and cheap to make quick......
People laugh at these things, but they forget that at the time they were loads cheaper than an equivalent F-body and made more power to boot. Not only that but they're light as hell and very nimble. Personally, I think they're awesome. They're the sort of car that look best in a garage, up on jacks, while a true motorhead fiddles around with them. They're that kind of car.
In fact, I'd even go so far as to say that they're THE car that could replace the 1955-57 Chevy and 1967-69 Camaro as the next "Hot Rod" for true car lovers.
There's like 9 or 10 around here. My cousins which is a hatchback 351 Windsor running a 150 shot, and the only one I know is a silver one turbo 5.0. Theres a few more roaming around. I think they're just really common. It's hard to have a unique Fox body.
More than anything, that car needs a turbo the size of my fat head.
I actually like the old look
Paint and rims made it much better

One vote for leaving it off. I like the cleaner look without the kit.
I agree with the whole money spent on the engine/ drivetrain, but he wanted it to presentable since he has had the car forever, its a fun dd for now, The nitrous kit should be going on in a month or so when he gets some down time from work, and then we'll have it in the 12's
Methinks I just made a mess.
Love it. I will forever be jealous of those SC wheels until I get my own
On the other hand....you have other fingers.

87 Firebird
All stock...........lol.
Urban- the front springs have coil spring limiters.....i forget what they really are called but they dont allow the spring to compress, they help with weight transfer.
Looks good. I say leave it the way it looks and go nuts on the engine and make it a sleeper.
Love the foxbody stangs!

huh. you learn something new everyday. It looks great regardless.
My only other suggestion would be to switch the headlights with one piece units similar to these (they have a nice oem feel to them)
