Since I'm drooling over the new Challenger, I've been looking for classic type wheels to put on it and come up nil. The new Mustang can easily accomodate classic Cragars or Centerlines or whatever, but not the Challenger which has a funky 5x115mm bolt circle. However, 115mm is damn close to 4.5" so I was thinking... could you redrill the wheels into a unilug type thing and have them fit correctly and safely?
Most classic wheels I like like the Centerline Autodrag are made in 17" diameter, so fitment isn't a problem so much as bolt circles.
5x4.5 is the same as 5x114.3 . That's .7 of a mm different. get hubcentric rings and go to town.

Well, I figured that the .7mm difference could totally unbalance the wheel. It's not a large difference but it adds up at speed. But what if you drilled the wheels' bolt holes slightly so it could accept both lug sizes? Like this:
It's either that or redrill the front and read disc brake rotors. It's been done before by racecar drivers and works fine for street cars. It's just a pain in the a** to do.
from what I hear they will give you vibrations at higher speeds. not worth the risk IMO
