We have been slow for the past 2 months. Im worried too. Thats why Im currently looking for a 2nd job to feel some sort of security.
I guess it didnt help much for our dealer to buy out Showcase Pontiac GMC.
Dark days ahead for most domestic dealers, it would seem then. Most of their sales are on big SUVs and trucks, and that seems to be the majority of their inventory.
They could easily move them all up here, and all the neanderthal oil patch workers would buy them up like doughnuts.

Best-sellin?!?!?
Hah! Bill Heard is nothing but a bunch of f*cking crooks
I am glad they are out now and good f*cking riddance
lol I read all the replies to that wow they were ripping people off left and right
So when a dealership closes what happens to all the cars? Do they sell them at a ridiculously low price?
If they do I need to keep an eye out cause I know 3 closed in my area and there might be more. Maybe I can find a really good deal.
Now if only the GM dealerships in my city would close.. I'd be standing outside giving each and every one of them the finger as they walked out. Sorry to say, but I've been to a lot of dealerships, and my worse experiences have been at the local GM and Saturn dealerships. Honda dealership on the other hand, treated me very nice and fair.

Level of service has more to do with the owners rather than the Auto company ...
5 GM dealerships in my area ... 3 are straight crooks, 2 are great.
3 Toyota dealership in my area ... 2 are straight crooks, 1 is great.
Etc.
And I agree.. The GM dealership from my hometown is really good.. It's just in where I live now, they're bunch of crooks..

We have one group of dealers here that are terrible. Unfortunately, they own half the dealerships in the area, and control the sales around here for:
Dodge group
Subaru
Kia/Hyundai
Mitsubishi
Nissan
I think they have Mazda, too
Our GM dealer is great, as is our Toyota dealer (owned by the same family), The Chev/Caddy dealer is okay, but they have a great parts dept. (mechanics there are all dicks, though). Both Ford dealers are great, too. The one pure used car dealer is the most crooked dealer of them all, though. They overcharge for vehicles, and all of their cars were bought at auction, and any papers regarding faults in the cars were clearly neglected.

I read in Automotive News a week ago that they were caught up in what is called "powerbooking", which is where you tell the bank that the vehicle you are selling has more equipment than it really does, therefore getting a higher loan amount than really necessary, and they were holding on to the difference as profit. There were even customers coming forward telling of how the sales managers and F&I managers were coaching them what to say if the bank calls them.
Bill Heard enterprises must have an excellent PR manager, as none of this has been exposed in the mainstream media.
Too bad dealers like this give the rest of us dealers a bad name. Believe it or not, some dealers do tell the truth and have above the table practices. Trust me, every domestic dealer in times like these has their concscience tested. You only have one name.
WOW.... JUST wow........
THE definition of stealership.
IT seems they did not just got out of business due to poor sales, but to some major cases of fraud as well.
My Cav
I give up...
i'm buying a VW those people love trees, so they should love eachother too... "Andy"
Bill Heards biggest problem was being shady and having GMAC revoke their credit privilege. Hopefully this straightens the other shysters out too.
I never dealt with the salespeople before, but I know there parts dept runners would drive almost 300 miles every morning just to deliver parts wether it be an air filter or transmission, and alway be there before noon. One time there delivery truck broke down, they had it towed to our dealership, just to deliver the parts and had us fix there truck also. Sucks that they'll out of job, there parts guys were always good to us, never once had an issue with them. Now one dealership about 28 miles from us, there a pain in the ass to deal with.
One time we needed a pitman arm that was backordered they said ok but you have to pick it up. So it was for my buddies job he was working on so we said screw it we'll just go overthere for lunch, pick up the part, and eat on the way back and driver the parts truck. Well we get there and the parts guy says we're not going to sell it to you guys afterall cause it was backordered they wanted to hold on to it. I hadn't been that angry in a long time, but of course wearing a my uniform I couldn't do a danm thing. Funny how one little incident will ruin your rep for a long time, though our dealership president forbids any parts, sales or service deals with dealerships. That means no dealer trades, no selling or buying parts from them, or working on any cars the used car dealer needs warranty work on. Real Irony is that one of there used car dealerships is on the same property as ours, to the point of if there wasn't a fence the cars bumpers would be touching.
