Few small things to the car.
First the 18's were too large so I got rid of those and went with Konig Tantrums in silver and 17". Basically they are same style as Motegi MR7's. Also, I changed out the bumper lights for clear ones. Lastly, the front calipers looked horrible. Someone talked me into color matching them to the car so I tried it out. I like them but wish I would have went black. I didn't really want them to stand out since they are black. No biggy cause they're getting changed to two piston calipers when I get back from my deployment.
Onto the photos.
Before I got started
With the wheel off. You can see why I wanted to clean them up.
Cleaning them up with Brake Parts cleaner and the hose real good
Prepping it for paint. Some stuff I didn't want to get paint in or on.
Primed em
First coat. This pic made it look silver because it was a thin coat with grey primer under it.
After I few coats of white and a few more coats of clear its back together.
Here are some pics as of today of it washed and waxed.
Near future includes a new hood, CF front lip, 98-01 all red stock tails, my fourth set of rims since getting the car, and 2 1/4" catback into a Flowmaster 60 series muffler. After my deployment not sure which route I'll go with it. I have some time to figure it out though. Thats when it becomes my toy because soon as I get back I'm finally buying myself a brand new car. Looking at a 2009 Honda Civic Si 4-door.
I'm highly disappointed with my photography skills. The pics made it look like a POS when its actually in pretty good shape. The front does have a few scrapes in it but that gets taken care of with the lip. They aren't near as bad as the pics make them look. The front and rear bumper are off but again in the photos it looks like I can stick my foot in between the body and the bumpers lol...which is not true. Oh well its a work in progress just thought I'd share.
So you painted the calipres, but not the rusty centre section or cooling vains of the rotors?

Couldn't justify painting those when new ones are on order. They should have actually been here yesterday. I don't know anything about those I think they are just some cheap e-bay knock off's and I'm pretty sure one is warped or something.
Easy boy...one thing at a time.
Oh, I didn't know about the new ones on order.
I didn't know why you would strip/paint just the calipers and leave the rotors alone esp. when they're that rough looking.
They look good though, I prolly shoulda said that first post, my badness.
I'm planning on replacing my rotors, lines and pads with upgrades from KVR, but the calipres are staying stock SE-R's.... they really do rock my socks
I was going to wait to paint the calipers until I got new rotors, but I thought they'd be in. I got bored and had some extra time. Plus changing those rotors isn't hard at all so the extra time taking the stuff off again isn't too bad. When you walk by the car or look at it you don't see the rotors as much as the pic. The calipers however are a different story. You could see it driving and be like wow...nice rotors lol.
Thanks for the comments. I need to get a set of stainless steel brake lines also. I can add that to the list of things though =P Its a slow build but when I get back from my deployment thats when the fun begins. My biggest worry though is the tail lights. I've found a few sets but they are 94-97 which have the yellow turn signal. 98-01 is all red and looks better. So i'm just going to hold out for what I really want.
Toss that spoiler Rabbit.
Also curious if you are deploying to the desert? My friend Marshal McCorkel is also deploying towards the end of the year from Eglin.
The spoiler is staying. I actually really like it. Yea, I'm going to Kubol, Afghanistan. I leave for Fort Riley for 2 months of combat training in October and from there i'll head over.
09 Si 4 door huh? MUGEN SI?????
I know a nice company who can make a killer turbo setup for ya.
Love the white!
wow that person must of been a really good talker if he convinced you to paint your caliper white.
i hated doing my brakes when i had my integra. @!#$ those screws in the rotors.
