It's amazing how people still think the ZR1 is all brute force, low-tech. The electromagnetic shocks are phenominal, the materials are state of the art, and of the course the brakes...
But, since it doesn't have the DSG, it must be crap.
As far as the GTR being better "for the money", keep in mind Nissan loses money on each one. By making this car they are manipulating consumers into thinking the 'vette is overpriced. The GTR is a good looking, loaded rocket, but I still wonder what MSRP should really be.

wouldn't want to drive the new GT-R. It does everything for you. If you turn too hard, it'll correct you. If you start oversteering, it'll send power to the front wheels and correct itself. If you lose a race in it, it gives you head.
I'd rather have a car that laughs at me and calls me a little b*tch than one that babies me when I f*ck up. The GT-R is only the result of the so-called "Playstation Generation" entering the buyer's market. If it weren't for Gran Turismo, the GT-R would have no US market, and very little European market, if any. It's an overpriced playstation game. It simulates driving by padding the driver from all the dangers of real life.
F*ck the GT-R. It's for underachieved drivers and those wishing to bypass learning the art of sport driving, but still have all the thrills. Rich mamas boys who can't change their own diapers and still get spoonfed and have everything they have a tantrum over bought for them at the grocery store.

Sorry boys, The GTR is the Godzilla king now, It is much picked over the vette by Topgear, Firstgearr, Motortrend, car and driver, and the majority of population worldwide.. Dont forget this Car the GTR which was previously a skyline is a world known car and its if not everyones top 10 pick its pretty damn close. Can anything be said for a company that produces cars like the aveo, impala, equinox, and uplander? They're biggest profit vehicle lineup is shutting down 2 plants possibly three and closing down over 4 transmission and engine assembly plants..... wait do I smell a possible bankruptcy??? I think all you guys backing up the amazing Z06 that got spanked and ZR1 that is soon to get spanked better think about which company you're truly covering for cause right now the spotlight is on GM, and its quite upsetting and embarressing....

When going through the numbers, the last Altima was was the worst of the bunch when comparing base models. It was expensive, inefficient, bulky, under-equipped, and not the fastest by a long-shot. They sell well because they look good.
Nissan = Toyota w/ more aggressive styling and less technology.

Aveo, Impala, Equinox, and Uplander = consumer garbage, just like everything coming fromToyota, most of Honda, Ford, and almost all of Nissan. I applaud GM for having the juevos to go with projects like the Solstice/Sky, G8, Cobalt SS, and Volt. At least they are still attempting to make cars for drivers, it's unfortunate they aren't as profittable as the boring econo-junk today.
The only way I'd hate GM with your passion is if I had stock in the company (which it sounds like you might lol).

they are more accurate and with their readings it seems ever since the gtr has come out someone from MT has had a hate on the gtr and gives the car a bad rating......
If you look at Consumer Reports mag for last month the Altima was front page #1 reccommended car over all other sedans, for best gas mileage, reliability and performance.......
So I don't understand MT.......
I go by NON profit companies like Consumer reports.... I know Car and Driver is funded but at least their ratings seem a little more realistic..........
hOW the hell does MT pick the vw? they tested the WRONG altima they tested the SL and said it was too expensivce which is the leather sunroof package, and put it iup against all other base models...... they said the altima had the worst gas mileage, but yet the government rating is the highest on the altima???

The ZR1 has more computers inside than you can imagine. The difference is that GM uses electronics mainly to try and increase frictional forces between the tire and the pavement, and Nissan uses electronics to limit driving forces. Both keep the car from sliding so much, the 'vette just has more "personality"
