So I bought a 92 SC2 back in December. It's been treating me very well, up until last week. The alternator went on it last week. No big deal, swapped and good to go. Well the other night, it just suddenly died on me after I had driven a mile from the house. I let it sit for about 30-45 minutes. And it started up again. I got it about halfway home and it died. Lights did not dim, no battery light, etc, so I ruled out the alternator. Once I towed it home, it would crank but wouldn't start. I let it sit overnight and tried again in the morning. First try, nothing. Second try about 20 minutes later, it started, ran for about 2 minutes and died. Then it would crank but not start. Left it and went to work. 12 hours later, it did the same thing. I had read about the Crank Position Sensor going bad on these so I swapped that out today. Put everything back together and it fired right up, then died 2 minutes later.
I am at a loss. The fuel pump sounds like it's working but I didn't have time to verify. I couldn't tell if there was spark at the ignition coil because it was too bright out so I can't rule that out completely. I'm obviously trying the cheapest fix first, so what should I look at next?
Any ideas?
