clicky

im not new to bikes just to street bikes. dirt bikes i have rode quite a bit but the biggest dirt bike i have been on was 250. So i dont want to jump up to a real big bike until I feel safer and/or have more experience on road. Also im 6' 2" and weigh about 260 so will i be to big for this bike or will it be way under powered. Im not wanting a go fast bike but one where im not having to go full throttle just to get up to speed.

thanks in advance

You would prolly be happy with that. It will be very tame unless you try and really wring it out.

i know for next year ill get something bigger atleast a 750 or even a 1000. but i dont want to start on one. also i would get pretty good gas mileage for this summer which would basically pay for itself because my jeep only gets 13mpg

thats a very basic beginner bike, alot of people out grow them fast. i started out last year on a 00 katana 600cc. and upgraded at the end of the season. Just please learn good habbits and ride safe man. enjoy!

Honest opinion is stay away from that bike!!! With only 3300 original miles it sat for a very long time. If you buy it and start riding everyday chances are the dried, cracked seals on the engine are going to blow. You can also find a newer learner bike for that price. Whatever you do, take the MSF course and ride safe.

thanks. im just browsing now but if i find something i really like for a decent price ill pick one up. i know now is not the best time to buy since it is riding season. so i may hold out until winter when the prices go way down. Also the next training course date thats open isnt till sept anyway in which i would want to complete before riding. I think the course is a little over 200 bucks and worth every penny from everyone i know that has taken it

thanks again everyone

I was just reading about 500's this morning in the smart-buy section of motorcyclist magazine. Says try to buy 94 or above because they went from 16" to 17" tires, and there are much better and stickier options available at the bigger size.

Honestly, I think it's over priced. You could probably get a similar-everything 94 for that price.

If you could get him down to a thousand I'd do it.
