dow would i find out what tranny is in a 97 grand prix gt n/a 2 door and the engine code?
4t65e came in the GT. the 4t60e's came in the SE's, 3.1 and 3.8. the GTP's came with the 4t65e-HD. the engine is an L36

they did, but he has an n/a GT
'97-'03 engine code for n/a GT is L36
GTP is L67
'04-'07 supercharged 3800 code is L32, i dont remember what the NA code is

I was thinking the l36 was the designation for the l32. Momentary lapse.
thanks that helps alot my brother is thinking about building his grand prix
it has 209XXX miles and still has equal compression across all the cylinders and still has only lost only 5 horse power over 11 years and the only problems its had were water pump alternater and radiator

Hehe. The vendor battle is viscous with the W. Some say great, some say not. Many of the parts offered can be had for much cheaper when not buying from the players. Look to teh comunity. There are wicked deals out there.
