Wheels on the Speed6

Well, the car was dirty but I crashed this afternoon so I wasn't tired. Called up a friend of mine and went around and took some pictures.

The car is pretty dirty and it was raining. Stupid Ohio.

Are they color matched or is it just coincidence that they are close to the same color as the car? (like gunmetal)

Either way it looks awesome, now drop her a little and call it a day!

Just lucked out I guess.

And yep, saving up for some coil overs.

I like the stock wheels on the Speed6, but those ARE pretty sweet, too. They're simple and don't spoil the look of the car. I can't wait to see the car when it's dropped!!

You'll like the stock wheels until you have to clean them... 1.5 hours a wheel is a bit much. The brakes also dust like crazy. I bent one of the rims bad enough that the car shook at 60+ so instead of spending $530 on one OEM rim, and not being able to find a used one quickly I just got a new set.

That makes perfect sense. I can imagine they were difficult to clean with the small opening and several spokes. These DO look like they'll be easier. ENJOY!!

car looks great. I do have a few questions, though. I read on a few MS6 forums that the rear ends like to break when you get on slippery surfaces, and a few other minor issues about them that would keep me from buying one. have any problems with your yet?

I haven't read anything about the slippery surfaces. I flogged mine on the snow a bit and havent had any issues in 16,000 miles. I know the 06's are poblematic for the turbos, but as long as you get the warranty replacement done, it should be ok. I know the rear ends are a weak point, but that could be said from most awd cars in this category/price range. I think the main issue is people overly abusing the cars, trying to drift them, etc and busting the dif mounts and that leads to broken half shafts. I learned stick on it, so obviously I've abused it my fair share, and no issues. I have the MazdaSpeed CAI too. Had to hear the turbo spool, heh. Supposidly good for 30 hp, although I'm a bit skeptical about that number. I also know the stock BOV is supposed to leak, so I'll be replacing that soon too. Direct replacement better BOV is like $300, installs in 10 minutes.

Why that's no Speed 6, that's a Mazda!

TVR = Speed 6

Yes, except for this one actually runs 7 days a week and handles turns.
