Just recently my ion has been shifting hard. If I floor it in first gear it displays "error" on the screen on the dash and then shifts like I have broken transmission mounts. Only problem is, my mounts aren't broken. If I shut the car off and start it again it goes away and shifts fine. But, if I floor it again it does the same thing. Any thoughts?
Stop flooring it
Sorry, just busting your balls. I really have no valuable input other than see if you can pick up any codes with a scanner.
Does it have warrenty? Thats the first thing I would do. Let them worry about it!
Mine did that once, but only once. Got the error message too. I'd get it scanned from the dealership for sure.

Well, after numerous problems with my Ion I was able to influence Saturn that it was in fact a lemon. I got every cent back that I paid on it
I just picked up my new car, a 2008 Civic LX. This car is light years ahead of the Ion. I'll post some pics of it later today.
Yeah... I was gonna say your first problem was getting an Ion.

Hahah sweet!! I'm ditching my Ion soon as well. What a horrible little car it turned out to be. I'll be getting a Civic as well.

Awesome....you can't go wrong with a civic. I'm sure GM wishes they could go back in time and never release that pos called the Ion
I think the whole delta platform should be scrapped.. It's barely a step up from the Jbody..
