But I got it thrown in as a freebie.

FTL: Girlfriend hit a bad pothole, sent the wheel cover into the abyss ($82 retail, even the wholesale to me was 70 bucks), and bent a wheel. Sigh.

Ya got out cheap there buddy, I just goobered my MS6 wheel... $530. Needless to say, a set of new rims is on order.
Failed to mention, this is on the Yaris. What I meant by the center console thing is the cup-holder isn't stock, it's one singular tray. The extra tray (comes with some heady-duty 3M tape stuff on the back) sticks into it, and gives you a much-needed extra cupholder. I think four cup-holders should be the very least legally permitted in any car.

I had a car when I was younger that had no cup holders and it sucked ass!
my 83 celica had no cupholders. i had those cheap ones that you hook over the door panel.
GO PATS!!!
My 1987 Suzuki Samurai didn't have cup holders. I'd jam it down between the seat and e-brake handle. But they are so bouncy the drink would fall out often. From that car on i won't own it without a cup holder. My '90 T-Bird didn't have one too then but made a custom one that i could mount and then take down. It looked cheesey when it was mounted but worked amazing.
Are there no other cup holders in the front of the Yar?

There's two of them. It's a love-hate thing for them, however, as they are on the left-most side of the dash, right above the power window buttons, its not unusual for a side-to-side bump (think: crater-like potholes) to spill coffee out over the side, onto the buttons, occasionally on your leg.
HOWEVER, they cup holders are so deep, the chance of losing your entire drink is impossible, regardless if you buy an X-Large cup at McD's.
The center one is typical of an average cup holder, and a medium-sized coffee cup just barely squeezes in... but since it sits directly over the center of car, it's almost impossible for a pot-hole to spill coffee sideways.
There's another cup holder in the center console, however it's impossible to reach from the front without some serious contortionist moves.
