It's been awhile guys =) Updates on the STI

Havent been on the org for some time, been busy with my house, work, and moving! I hope that everyone is doing well. A few things have changed on the Suby, it still has a LONG way to go but one step at a time! =)

New mods include:
-19 Inch Axis Hiro wheels
-Cobb Accessport Stage 2
- Replaced the hideous STI Spoiler with the standard Wrx unit, but will change to carbon fiber trunk in the future.
- Shaved emblems
- Borla Exhaust

The car REALLY needs to be dropped Coil overs are my next purchase, these wheels look great tucked in the suby's flared fenders but right now at stock height it looks a little silly, but I know what It will look like so it's no biggie, the coilovers go on in June.

I found a body kit that eliminates the front "honeycomb" grill which i've always hated, I plan on installing that after the suspension work is done.
I also despise (along with many owners) the stock taillights, I would like to install the all red versions from the 05 STi in the near future.

This car continues to be alot of fun, I will keep you all posted on any additional mods as they come =)

What's up Paul =)

When the time comes I am going to be taking my car to cosworth here in Torrance CA, they build time attack motors and bulletproof engines. I have a 100k mile warranty on this engine so im wanting to get the chassis done first ( coilovers, strut bars, control arms, chassis braces, rollcage etc) before I do anything to the motor. As far as the body is concerned I am going with a carbon fiber hood and trunk. I hate the frontend but love the lights with the kit it looks alot better.

I just want to get everything done and utilize my warranty and get as close as I can to the mileage before I take it to cosworth. They replace the engine block, pistons, cams, springs, turbo, the whole nine yards and Im confident that's what I want to do so putting any additional money into this engine is pointless to me at this point. I want to do everything right on this car the first time, hence the reason im saving for expensive coilovers instead of just throwing springs at it right now which i could do just to lower the ride height. The accesport made the car perform ALOT better this car scoots =) I can reset it back to stock if I ever need to have warranty issues arise as well.

I am thinking when I change my trunk i will probably ditch the roof spoiler as well, I want to keep it clean. =)

Thanks everyone.

Again, the turbo will be upgraded at cosworth along with the engine. Being a subaru guy you should probably know from naoia, or iwsti.com of the horror stories of the 07's blowing engines because of a crappy factory tune because of emissions. The 07 has the best hardware, (best gear ratio, even different from 06, bigger turbo) but the worst factory tune. So keeping my warranty is important and the most logical at this point until the car itself is ready to have the power the cosworth motor will provide. Plus it makes more sense in my mind to have a chassis built, capable and ready for that power as opposed to having a built motor without the chassis having the proper means to handle it.

No doubt this car will be fast, but I want to do things the right way, sorry to dissapoint you guys. =)

Some other sti's with 19's, again my car looks silly now but with a different stance they look great. And the stockies always stay for any aggresive driving, track use =)

Well seems like you have done your research. I cant wait to see it all done . Atleast now I know im not alone on jbo

BTW dont worry I have the same wheels as u lol just in 18s and diff color. They are 18x8.5 but I am looking into getting some works 18x9.5

Also what bodykit you getting? I would just get a lip kit. I love the look of the 06-07 STi.

One last thing. I have a CF trunk sitting around if you were interested. I'm not a fan of the spoilerless style so I took the trunk off and put the stock one back on.

Yes I noticed you car looks awesome man, very nicely done! Your 18's would work great at the track where as I have to swap wheels for such duties =) I would be interested depending on the shape it's in I was looking at the sebon hood and trunk, what style is yours? I would definitely take that off your hands if it was in good shape!

As far as the kit goes: I have these choices.. I would appreciate anyones incite as to which they think looks best!

The second and third body kits are the cleanest...but they take away all the cars personality, and end up making the car look plain. and actually make the Subie look more like a Mazda Protoge.

I second that you should just get a lip spoiler. Or the factory driving lights and a lip spoiler, like this one...

no body kit! if you did it exactly like that photoshop (plus the small fog lights) it would be perfect.
