I've searched the forums and can't believe no one's ever brought this up. Anyone have any idea if GM will ever build a Cobalt/G5 convertible?
Granted, at the price they'd sell them you'd probably be better off buying a Pontiac Solstice, but some of us like the idea of owning a 2+2 Vert with a decent trunk.
So what's the word? Anyone know?
you mean something like this?
any more pictures?? from that one..i dont think im a fan.
Well oddly the Astra platform the Cobalt sorta kinda shares has a drop-top version so i'd assume it wouldn't be too hard for them to make one.
But my guess is the sales numbers and demand from the j-body vert were so low they probably won't waste any time to develop a Cobalt version. Especially when solstice/sky numbers dwarf the previous j-body verts numbers. Kind of seems like a waste of development cash...when GM needs it the most.
Besides that picture titus provided looks horrid. I'd so NOT hit it.
lol

they are making a camaro convertible as a 5 passenger convertible so it will pick up the sales. I wish there was a cobalt convertible!

Indeed! Bravo Titus.
Yeah, deep down I realize WHY there's no Cobalt convertible, but yet I think there should be one anyway. Everyone should be able to own a daily driver convertible. They rock. Hell, I'd even make do with a T-top Cobalt. That would rule too.
shoulda ps'd the rear wing off too
doesn't look bad but i couldn't see gm pricing a cobalt vert much below the sky/redline...
