i've been working on a 96 3.0 v6 ford taurus.....just checked the codes and such and one showed up for the camshaft sensor...anyone know where the damn thing is? i think i've found it, but obviously i don't want to pull it out if i'm still not sure.
also, anyone know of a good forum for those cars/motors? it makes more sense to me to post this kind of stuff there. thanks

no wonder i couldn't find anything on a cam sensor for a taurus...it's a @!#$ 'cam synchronizer' and FORD PISSES ME OFF. they don't NEED to have all that damn plastic in the way. and they didn't NEED to make it so you can't remove it to get to the synchronizer. i'm glad i'm not keeping it.
does anyone else hate this car?

i own also a 02ls sport/red like yours and my other daily car is a 94 mint green taurus. Taurus is not a "looker', but it is a great daily car for me.
my brother got the car from his mom, beat the @!#$ out of it (alot of camp road driving, and deer) and then was gonna just junk it, but i said well i'll fix it and sell it, seeing as it wasn't totaled and still ran good. interior is great, looks wise is where it needs a little work, from the deer(three, i think). 186,000 on it, but runs great, minus the cam synch and the hole in the cat. more or less regular maintenance stuff that never got done. needs a new power steering line, cat, cam synch, right hand mirror, something is up with the alt. and some major brake bleeding. this would def be a great DD...lots of room and plenty of go...but it's just not something i'd really ever want to drive or keep. or have to work on EVER, which i found out the hard way
. i figure if i can't sell it, i'll just part it out then junk the rest.
