So... I think I signed for a new Yaris...
Tuesday, March 18, 2008 10:52 AM
Yea, I think. Pending bank approval, and a half-decent quote on insurance for myself and the girlfriend, it's mine.

'07 Hatch
Power locks, windows, A/C, auto (girlfriend is lazy and doesn't like shifting :p), CD Player

a.k.a. the 'B' package.

Sticker is $18810

Dealer was selling below wholesale (or close), $16990

Manage to wrangle a few extra goodies out of him too.

Pics to follow!

(It's snowing, so likely tommorow.)

No, but I bet he got the deal with a frapucchino maker and the big rear window sticker with a Y for Yuppie. Let's all pitch in and get him a set of truck nuts for his new car.

Same here in GA they are around 14k. I would never pay 18k for a yaris.

I have noticed the Yaris being pretty expensive both in CA and in OR. Not sure why really. For the same price at a Toyota dealership you could get an xB, which has way more power, options and room. And that car in an automatic just doesnt seem to be the best decision. But, if you can get a ton of accessories for nothing, it could offset it a little. Still, I dont see how they can charge any more than $13K on one of those little dudes. There are some cool accessories out there for them though.

Xb? You mean the toaster on wheels? I'd rather be seen on a Huffy with a banana seat and rainbow streamers from the handlebars that be seen driving one of those P.O.S.'s

Taxes, delivery, licensing... a.k.a. 'new off the lot' with 12 miles on the clock. Actual sticker is $16990.

You also have to remember the prices for 'Yotas are fixed per region in Canada, which sucks balls. Sticker for an '08 off the lot, for what's posted, is $20420.80, according to the online calculator (not including a block heater, 200 bucks and an absolute must up here), and generally non-negotiable, and does not contain licensing (add another 60 bucks, plus the fees the banks charge). Saving 1500 bucks, for the exact same car, but one digit younger, still new off the lot?

I'm game.
