2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo
I traded this today for my 05 cavalier. 6000 for my trade in and 6 for this jeep. i really like it it is a very smooth ride and much easier to get my 7 month old son in and out of the car. thoughts opinions are always welcome
start saving up for a transmission!
nice bro, thats exactly the same as my sisters
nice vehicle, but the previous owners seem like pigs.
My Cav
I give up...
i'm buying a VW those people love trees, so they should love eachother too... "Andy"
ya its in need for a good detail. but no worries that is easy just time consuming. also i have a question as this is my first 4x4 vehicle. What is the best way to switch the gear from 2wd to 4x4 high, low, part time or full time and what is the difference between all of them lol.
2wd = rear wheel drive right?
4 full time = all spining the same speed?
4 part time = ????
4 low = ????
netural = ??????
thanks everyone. and again why should i start saving up for a new tranny are these known to break early or what? it drives very smooth and shifts smooth. no noise i can hear
Hopefully you collect Air Miles....You'll never need to pay for another trip again.

2 wheel drive = rear wheel drive
4 full time = constant 4 wheel drive ( like all wheel drive )
4 part time = when rear wheels slip fronts kick in
4 low = for off road/ trail us, low gear ratio's
neutral = transfer case is in neutral, pretty much like any other trans
nice jeep tho... my boss has one and loves it.. never had a problem with it
4 wheel part time is tech. 2wd but if it senses them slipping the front will dig in until you get going.
4 low would be if your stuck in some mud or deep snow and need a tall gear with little spin to get out
im not a jeep owner im just saying from my understanding..........correct me if im wrong.
maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow....... but some day
lol thanks guys. i dont know what maintance has been done to the jeep but i was told around 100k that it is good to flush and fill the transfer case and tranny fluid as well. prob spark plugs air filter and change oil to high milage full syntec 10w 30. anything else or other ideas to do as well? brakes are good and i love how big the front and rear rotors are. thanks again for the help guys.
now the other question that wasnt answered is how to switch from 2wd to 4wd. if the jeep is stopped do i put it in netrual and shift into whatever gear (from 2wd to 4wd) then back into drive and then it will lock? or if im moving can i do it the same way put it from drive to netrual then change to 4wd. thanks
to be safe i would only due it when your stopped... i am pretty sure you can do it while your moving.. but i wouldnt...
to switch from 2wd to one of the 4wd setting justhave the car stopped... in whatever gear you want... park, reverse, neutral, drive... whatever... and just pull the lever back until your in the gear youd like... yes its that easy... it should feel like its 'clicked in'...
lemme know how you make out...
well the selector for different drives is stiff is it suppose to be
lol
maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow....... but some day

ya sometimes they are... my bosses felt stiff too... just yank on it and see how it goes...
Needs more 34s
1989 Z24 Convertible - Dust Covered
2006 tC - Dust Covered, but driven more
ya well i put it in 4 full time and it works great! but only thing i noticed was different was that there was a little humming while in that gear. is it suppose to be a little louder because not just the rear tires are getting power
and the needs more 34's is that refering to needing bigger tires? if so i plan on keeping it stock for awhile. I was going to change the air filter and noticed it has a k&n drop in but needs to be cleaned so i bought a charge kit
some of the jeeps will hum in 4wd... if it really bothers you then take it in and get it looked at... but its not a big deal
ok good lol. i joined www.jeepforum.com ill still come by here of course but there is a lot of good info over there. thanks again everyone
no problem... were here to help... youll definitely get better answers from the jeep forum then here... seeing as its a jeep and all...
have fun with it... theyve had problems in the past but overall arent a bad vehicle...
what engines in that one?
