nah... since i got it for such a decent price and low mileage im gonna try to wait awhile... i eventually wanna go turboed, but for now its gonna be i/h/e mm,cams, tranny mounts, and the sc lips, drop, projectors, wingless, eyelids, rims and a good tune. hopefully ill be satisfied with that till about 50k, then im gonna throw in the hahn kit.
I think the hahn kit is cheaper then all that...and more fun...somethin to think about
HAHN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A little GO then SHOW
show makes you say wow, why did i spend all that money...go makes you grin, and say...im glad i spent the money
you will love it. i have the g5 gt and also 5 speed. very fun car to drive.

lol hahn kit is 4k... i can get most of that for less than 2k and alot of it ill need anyway...

Everything in bold will have to be replaced to do the turbo setup. A good chunk of $$$ down the drain.

i dont plan on turboing for awhile...and in the next couple yrs ill be makin at least 50k plus so who cares...lol
My cousin has an SS with the 2.4 in it also.Sure he dosen't have a superchager(yet) but it's quite a fun car.
It's actually what i learned how to drive a stick on.
Congrats and good luck with the modding.
Rememeber kids... spell check is your friend
LE5 is an awesome powerplant!! If you're seriosly holding off on the turbo, get one of the tuning packages available out there... I see it on your list, but it should be FIRST!! People are seeing huge gains on canned tunes. I'm not sure what's going on with GM's tune, but apparently the thing is retardedly rich up top (you'll get a nice MPG gain with a tune as well
), and there are all kinds of "nanny controls" like an abuse mode, the ECM getss highly pissed if you hit the rev limiter like doing a burn out or hard launch. Check out the obvious ones like HPT, but also Vector and PCMforLess.
Good luck, Hahn is well over 400 BHP on this engine, so you've got a @!#$load of potential when you get around to that forced induction.
^^^
its rich for engine longevity.
You also shouldn't hit the rev limiter.
EFI live should make a tune for it as well.

Agreed on the rev limiter in most cases, but even hahn has a vid where their SKY hits the limiter in second and the ECM goes in to limp mode...sometimes its happens to the best
.
11:1 on an N/A car does not equal longevity in my book...that is what some have reported seeing at WOT in the upper RPMs. It's just a waste of fuel and may even be good for some fouled plugs and a clogged cat. Even 13:1 would still be safe, more fuel economical, and probably yield more power.
I'm doing a lot of reading on the available tuning for the solstice 2.4 (should be about the same for the SS 2.4), and I've yet to find someone reporting detonation or ill effects of leaning out GM's stupid rich tune via the canned tunes I mentioned above. Of course I don't think anyone has too much over 50k miles on this powerplant, so who knows.
the 2.4 is a fun motor rev the thing up and it moves right along. the turbo kit for it put the car at a think a 13.9 in auto tranny and street tires.
they are probably the strongest of all the Ecotec variants in terms of internals, because the entire bottom end is forged , not everything but the pistons like the LSJ, even LSJ turbos are getting 400whp, this engine can do that and more

I wasn't aware that the bottom end (rods and pistons) of the LE5 are forged...I just knew Hahn is selling a well tested kit that puts out about 380 whp with the stock bottom end. WIth 15% loss that is about 450 bhp!! And with manipulation of the cam phasing, its a nice torque curve as well!
I can't believe I drove an OHV for so long...
the hahn turbo kit is supposed to put it to about 260 whp where u guys gettin 380 from? either way itll be fun when i get to that point.. until then, i wanna get all the bolt ons i can and cam it up and tune it so that i can stay as inconspicuous to the dealer as possible.

I should have been more specific...the hahn solstice 2.4 stage 4 kit is rated 380whp...same engine
