First one was a 1995 S10

More than likely it just needs a new starter. He's wanting 1,000 for it.
Second
its a 1989 240SX Coupe

Couple turn offs on that one is its an auto for one and a coupe for two. I want a hatch and definitely a 5-speed. One good part is he said he would take 1500 and leave the 200 dollar Alpine CD player in it. Which I'd rather him knock more off the price and take it since I have a nice pioneer laying around anyways.
Third was a 1994 Honda Civic DX 5-speed.
I don't have the craigslist add for this anymore. I pretty much ruled it out because the trunk is messed up. It has some dents on both rear 1/4's and the trunk is all out of whack. Then he told me he tried to adjust it but couldn't get it to go back. So something is for sure jacked on it. Which sucks because it had a good running strong (slow but strong) motor in it.
I had my mind made up. There was a 1993 Convertible fox body stang with some work done to it for 2k. Very nice clean white car. Of course it sold today =/
Your thoughts?
id go s-10, just something about a small pick up that i love
drop a 350 in there and boom, fast little truck, even better
You're all over the map here, what are you wanting said project vehicle to do in the end? Determine that before buying something. You've essentially described 4 totally different types of vehicles, obviously they can't all be considered for the exact same purpose. I mean is this going to be a drag car, or a cone dodger/open track day machine, or are you wanting to drift or haul ass while hauling something in the bed?
Gotta know the problem before finding a solution.
foxbody for sure.. but then again im biased
If you plan on getting a 240SX to do an SR20DET swap, don't get an '89. For that mater, even if you don't plan on doing a swap, the '89 has a SOHC 2.4L, not quite as potent as the DOHC 2.4L that they switched to in 1990.

Yea I know, i'm just looking for something to tinker with. Have a little fun. Depending on the vehicle I get is the direction I will go.
Dave, thanks for the info. Yea I think i'm going to pass. Too many bad things and not enough good. The auto kills it and like I said I want a hatch if I get a 240. The fox body sold =/ it was very clean I new it was a good deal.
Well I do have a car lined up and hope he doesn't sell it before I get there. Its a 1986 SR5 Corolla =P
SR5 is still a hatch so you're golden.
They're fun, light, RWD but they are severly underpowered. If you're used to driving a V8 f-body, they you're in for a serious change.

Oh yea, I know I've done my home work on these for a while now. I've been wanting one for a while. I had one it was a steal with a great engine. Needed put back together. Just about had it finished up and I sold it =/
dude, my advice, stick with something american, or hell, go with a cav (as long as I've seen you on here it was the 3rd gen so I don't know if you ever actually had a cav or not lol). Aftermarket stuff might be widely available for the import stuff, but god forbid you need an OEM part, its normally 4 times the price and not nearly as findable in junkyards. S10/Blazer would be good choice if you want an easy V8 with minimal emissions bs to worry about, and they're cheap and plentiful.
