Little bro is looking for a cheap (sub $1000) car. We found a '91 Cavalier in a hole in the wall dealership for $900. It's got high miles (201K) but runs pretty well. Annoying vibrations when idling at a stop light, but it goes away when you put it in neutral. I think it's probably just a little vacuum leak. Brakes are decent, some dents and scratches but not more than you'd expect at this price. Worst problem it has is a crack in the windshield, no radio, and the rear view mirror is missing. Has a clean title (saw it myself). What do you think? He just needs a cheap Point A to Point B car that'll last a couple months to a year of regular driving.

For $1000, if it starts and runs. That's all you can expect.

good vehicles.. the vibration your feeling is the motor mounts.. they have a tendency to go. easy to replace, once you do that you'll feel a nice torque difference.

its a 500 dollar car at best, looks exactly the same as my first 91 cav that started it all for me

i bought it with 108k , drove it for a year then sold it and got my 500 bucks back

bottom line: dont pay more than 500 bucks for one with that kinda miles, theyre easy to find cheaper than that with less miles.

I found a z24 with 140k for around 900... had the v6...not sure on the year.
