sweet god i hope that isnt the final design... that front end is hideous

The car is hideous, but it is incredably aerodynamic.
um, whoops!
Nissan just raised the stakes!

...and that was on a slick surface, without an LS-something under the hood, and on dubs lol. I guess the scariest part of those numbers is that Nissan has a V-Spec in the works, and I'm sure there will be some interesting power gains to be had in the hands of tuners.

lol. They say it leaves the Z06 in the dust with an 11.6. Even though an average Z06 driver can hit that. A lot of people that can drive well, will hit a low 11 in the Z06, and a guy even hit a 10.98 bone stock, on the stock tires. The GT-R is cool and has amazing capabilities with it just being a 6 cylinder, but I'd rather have a Z06. The sticker on these may be $70,000, but good luck getting one anywhere close to that. Mark-up is going to be higher than it is on a GT500. Especially with the US production numbers being pretty low. I doubt anyone will be able to touch one for under $100k. Which is too much for a rather ugly car, especially a Japanese one.

if i could get it RHD in the US, and swap off that nasty front end, id put down 100k for one lol

Damn Japs !!! Just wait till that ZR1 Corvette hits the street !!
Its still a sweet car, I'm just a chevy guy and jealous. lol
Like I said before it is a impressive machine, but many Nissans are, thanks Renault.
This is direct competition to the 911 Turbo at almost half the price less. Z06 should be worried.
I commend Nissan for doing things right.
BTW give me this over any German Euro trash.

this might be something stupid but, it looks to be automatic?? i don't see the driver nailing the paddle shifters or any other time of manual gear change?
I'm back from the dead.

Launch control FTL!
VW has that crap, its a good way to destroy a transmission
i like it but i would hate having to "worrie about activating the launch control" i like driving our zo6 and not having to worrie about all the little switches and such just pull up to the lights and launch... and i can guarenty it would not "leave a corvette in the dust" as said above and proven MANY times in the states.. a bone stock C6 Z06 can hit mid to high 10's in the 1/4mile and its not just one guy doing it... its been reported a number of times now.. As for the big thing about it being in the same price range as a C6 zo6 i will bet any thing it will be more like $90-100k after dealerships have their say... and by the time its here in north america GM will have their 620hp Corvette out for sale.. there for the GTR would not even have a chance in hell in keeping up even a slightly modded GTR would still be struggling to keep up... for any one who has never driven in a new Z06 you have no idea how hard these things pull in a straight line or in the corners... it leave bikes in the dust in stock form in the corners and straights

A bone stock Z06 has only hit 10's once without DR's. And it was a high 10. With DR's though, it's not too unusual to see 10's though. It's going to take some bolt-ons to hit mid 10's, even with DR's. Most bone stock Z06's are hitting the low to mid 11 range on stock tires.

Says the biased guy with a 350z. lol. jk. On a side note. I love your 350z. I set one up in NFS Pro Street that looked exactly like that. Similar 5 spoke rims that were black with a chrome lip and all.

I'm not going to comment on Corvette-vs-GT-R argument, but I definitely prefer to have control of the clutch myself. Nissan is following VW/Audi and joining Mitsubishi with this whole automated-double-clutch woop-dee-f___'n doo transmissions. they loose me at "auto". Putting an automatic or automated transmission in the car makes it less of an enthusiast model and more of a lazy rich man's toy. IMO.

I have yet to see a ZO6 hit a 11.9 or better at the track in stock trim, and i've seen plenty....

Bone stock on Goodyear F1 EMT run flat tires
A ten-second quarter mile time in stock trim has been reserved for limited production supercars only. However, a man proved that with the right combination of weather and skill a completely stock C6 Corvette Z06 can break 11.0.
During a private test and tune event at Maryland International Raceway (MIR) Jamie Furman and his C6 Z06 running on the stock Goodyear F1 EMT run flat tires hit 10.98 at 129 mph in the 1320. The run was validated by a track official to achieve the record for quickest mass production vehicle. While the run was aided by near sea level track elevation and 40-degree air temperature, it still took refined gear banging skills to secure the record. Mr. Furman did not leave well enough alone with one record though. After hitting the 10s on the stock tires he threw on a set of drag radials to see what would happen. He hit 10.83 at 130 mph, breaking the previous drag radial standard of 10.85.
Of course these records aren't officially recognized by a particular sanctioning body, but they are recognized by internet message board enthusiasts and isn't that all that matters these days? Stock vehicles running 10s would never pass NHRA safety standards anyway. There is nothing like stirring up some keyboard racers to get the mud slinging started. The guys on Corvette Forum invite anyone from Viper Alley to put up a challenge. Apparently Jamie Furman once owned a few Vipers, but believes that currently the Z06 is king of American muscle. We need to take our cars to that track, stock Cavs could run low 14's there.
