That's right, first paint job I've ever done and it turned out damn nice. I also re-painted/customized the wheels.
Here's is how she looked when I bought her
........... and then I went down.
Left side of bike needed new fairings, as well as the nose and tail. I bought used, even cracked parts off Ebay and repaired them. It's called saving money with JB Weld. Instead of $2000 in new fairings I spent $200 total.
Here is how the bike looked after the crash. Here, it has just black primer (for the flat black look). It looked good, but primer by itself holds up to nothing. After a year, the scratches in it made it look pretty raggedy.
Here is how she looks now after the new paint....
Please feel free to tell me how bad-ass I am. Thanks.

Thats pretty weet. A friend of mine has the same bike. Looks like a pretty good job.
how did you paint it? what type of paint? gun? looks pretty good from what i can see. i would paint the red on the rims to match
Paint the red on the rims to match what?
I used a 60 dollar HPLV gun from Lowes, 1500 grit sandpaper, Sherman Williiams basic black, denatured alcohol for cleaning, tack rags for dust control, a makeshift paint booth from a $60 canopy, tarps and air-conditioning filters.

looks good in pics nice to see people go out and tackle a project like this without any experience.

AGuSTiN you are bad ass, almost super bad ass but not quite.
Looks good man, I really like to see people jump in and get something done, especially if they have never done it before. Great job man.

Looks awesome, but the red rims don't really go with it anymore.. Maybe paint those black too? I think that would look pretty sweet.

Watching you parade around my bedroom in a thong was a little like watching sea lions mate.
I get more ooos and ahhs over the rims than anything. The spring in the rear is red, and a nut on top of the fork is red and the light kit is red.

hahahaha
you are a bad ass
i thought it looked pretty good before, but damn, looks much more bad ass now
You're not bad ass..
If you had just stayed up, you could have saved yourself the trouble and expense of making your bike look like another anonymous red and black bike. *yawn*
Yes, I'm being an ass
hole.
Looks good... have you sanded it down to keep the paint from rippling, or do you even have to worry about that with HVLP?
Nice zx6r
do I spy with my little eye an akra exhaust..
Simple Q. how large is your tank for the hvlp gun, I've contemplating changing my big bird bike.
P.S. HOT, wouldn't change a thing except for maybe a seat cowl.
i meant paint your rims to match your bike. the black color.
not bad... you actually made a kawasaki look good.
leave the rims as-is, they look really good that way. the red is a really nice accent on the black bike. see if you can get a set of frame sliders for it though, so if you do low side it again you won't mess up the fairings quite as bad.
Wow man, I am really impressed. That looks pretty damn sweet. If you showed me those pics I would think you did it for a living. Can't believe thats your first paint job. You have more talent and patience then I do.
Looks good man,it would be cool to see some airbrush work on the bike as well.

Looks good. By the way it is cheaper if you keep them upright. LOL I am really liking the rims now.
