having been around cars for almost 30years , this is 1 of the oddest 1's ive seen
i mean how many rear pinion seals has everyone seen leak on a rear end ? ive yet to see 1 that didnt atleast have some seepage
so it kinda leads me to think something else is up and reason for the recall , but who knows

Not odd at all, I've only been at the dealership I work at for 1 year and 8 months, and I've seen about 5 cts leaking without complaints and of course with a safety issue we've upsold to warranty getting those fixed. Gm never gave any problems paying for the claims either even though there added by myself or the service manager.
It's not as odd as the sticker on the trailblazer wiper motor module.

Seriously? a sticker on the TB wiper?
that is an odd one.

if only they would recall the cobalts for the shifter control that had to be redesigned.
The sticker was actualy a seal to prevent water intrusion. It was a one way membrane that allowed moisture out of the vent in the module.
How about the recall to replace the head lights "bulbs" on the Century/Regal because old people couldnt read the over head road signs good enough?
I had a recall on my cavalier. The emissions sticker under the hood had to be relocated lol.

the odd part is the fact it became a recall , when its a common problem dating back to the time pinion seals were invented
common sense is there is a puddle in my driveway there is a issue that needs to be taken care of , a leak bad enough to cause the diff to lock up , means you got 2 qts or of oil slick some where
Unfortunately most customers will wait until the rear end is making insane amounts of noise before coming in. I worked in dealers for 7 years. Most customers are idiots and will wait until a part is almost completely destroyed before having a fluid leak checked.
Actually this is not the oddest I've seen, but this was.

Well the catalyst sticker is a federal requirement and they had an issue with peeling off. There was another one where we had to add a sticker to the driver door of Trail Blazers. Just a sticker.

Saab had a recall for the emissions label also. Because a number was wrong.
Saab also had a recall on brand new 06 9-3's. The computer programming would sometimes cause the car not to start (no crank) . Had to reprogram the ecm.
well my cts has had its rear pinion seal replaced twice.....
the srx, cts, sts, solstice, snd sky all share the same rear diff....
and its farking garbage....
GM put out this recall because DOT was starting to investigate them based on the number of differential failures reported from these cars....
